ITS EVERYWHERE!!!

Ok so again im ranting aboutn corn, but it needs to be known that its literately in absolutely EVERYTHING we eat. From Meat, to soda. almost everything in a Publix or any normal grocery store has corn. its insane. Thats the reason why America is stuck inside an obesity crisis.
Because of our fertile land in the mid-west our government has decided to jump on this advantage and thrive, or so they think. from what I've learned through watching videos (King Corn) and reading Books (Omnivores Delima) It's inescapable. This is partially the reason why there is an increased rate of diabetes and heart disease. Also our generation is (the generation that has been raised on this food) is the only generation who's life expectancy is lower than that of their parents.
We as Americans produce so much corn we could feed so many developing countries, make enough Ethanol to make a HUGE Lead in the "gas race", you can make bottles, any type of plastic (and that plastic is biodegradable) but the sad thing is, is that we put it in everything that it shouldn't be.
We can do better.

I totally agree. I've known about the corn epidemic for several years, as my AP Euro teacher was obsessed with some book filled with corn statistics. However, corn isn't the enemy. The problem is having so much of it, and only yellow corn at that. If we were to branch out to other corns, we'd be far better off, and if there was some more moderation in our diet, no one would be overweight.

I agree with that, I learned about this subject in my AP Environmental Science class. And i agree that we need more moderation, but if corn weren't so readily available, neither would meat and we would have a more balanced diet in terms of meat and non meat food items.

How exactly is corn unhealthy?

Its not the fact that corn is unhealthy, its the fact that we eat too much of it and the only type is yellow corn. Its like the same thing as too much Vitamin C in someones diet. Moderation and variety is the key to a healthy diet.
