"After 13 years of what can only be described as a dream come true, I have decided that it is time to leave the Backstreet Boys," Richardson said. "It was a very tough decision for me but one that was necessary in order to move on with the next chapter of my life."

Richardson didn't specify what that next chapter would entail, but he did pledge that fellow members Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, Nick Carter and A.J. McLean would always be his "little brothers" and have his "utmost love and support."
"Earlier this year, after much soul searching, Kevin Richardson came to us and told us that he had decided to leave the group and pursue other interests. He gave his blessing to continue the music without him," read a statement from the group, who are about to enter the studio to work on a new album that they hope to release later this year.

BSB Rocks! To all fans we know this, to all haters... name another boy-band that was so successful. They are not too old to still be performing or to do their thing... what would you call Bon Jovi or Linkin Park then? Every single BSB member actively participated in each album, i honestly don't think theirs a lead singer. When you're a true fan and you listen you can depict each voice...true talent they are. They got a rock edge that's fantastic and BSB are clearly legends. Goodbye Kevin...we will always love you...to the next chapter...all the best guys! I will definitely be supporting you to the end... BTW I'm in college and i still think they are the best! LOVE YOU GUYS!

Over 75 million CDs sold all over the world,the news of Richardson leaving printed in newspapers all over the world-The Backstreet Boys have been important to a lot of people, not just a bunch of teenies. Kevin will be sorely missed, I hope he changes his mind and comes back.

Wow, the fact that you posted this in the first place is pretty bad (If it's not news, don't post it). And the fact that adults are actually protesting your post is even worse. The Backstreet boys have no musical talent whatsoever. Why people obsess over them is beyond me. They were too old to start a boy-band in the first place and they're waaaaay to old to let this shit (and yes, it is shit) continue.

have been in love with them since. kevin was always
one of my favorite and had an amazing voice. and im
just sad to see him go. good luck in everything you
try to accomplish in life.and you will truely be
