Is Teenage Drinking So Wrong?

Tagged:  •

Now we all have heard of the football team going out partying after a big game, but is it really that big of a deal? I think that people should realize what they are doing before they are doing it. Sure, teenagers like to party. Thats a fact. But how much partying is too much partying? What if the teenagers started drinking at nine in the morning? What if the kids started leaving school just to go get drunk? Now I understand that every teenager is going to be around or consume beer at some time in their life, but should they be forced to drink all the time just because everyone else is doing it? The majority of car crashes are caused by drunk driving, and many of these people are just teenagers. I don't think that teenagers should never go to parties, no thats not what I'm saying, I just think that if you go to a party be responsible. Don't leave, don't do anything stupid. But many teenagers now a days go out "booz crusing" which is very scary because you kids in a car who are intoxicated and are driving around, posing the possibility of killing someone just because they wanted to have a good time. All I'm trying to say is if you go out partying, be responsible.

I hate to tell you, but parents don't think that we're responsible enough to go out and drink. Some kids really let themselves go and that's not our fault. Parents just don't want it to happen to us. They would rather be safe than sorry. Can we blame them?

Are you saying it's alright to drink sometimes, but only if you make sure you don't drive drunk? Because that's not the only danger to alcohol. There's alcohol dependency, alcohol poisoning, the fact that when you're drunk you do things you wouldn't otherwise do...
Alcohol is good in moderation. Getting drunk should never be something one condones. So change the title. Reword your argument. Make it more concise.

Wow I was just thinking that. I hate when people call me up drunk and tell me that they are driving!

Drinking and driving is right underneath violent crimes in my mental hierarchy of wrongness. I hate it when people drink and drive! I remind people frequently not to do so, and also remind them that the person they kill could be one of their family members, friends, coworkers, or even worse- one of my kids! The last one would cause someone their life. This seems to help a little.
