Casper the friendly ghost

Right now I'm writing a research paper on the existence of ghosts. The basis is that humans have an appetite for mystery and fear, so is it this appetite that causes us to believe in ghosts, or do the paranormal truly exist? Personally, I do believe in ghosts and spirits regardless of what anyone says. I've had encounters or experiences or whatever you want to call them. So, let me share some of them...
I think the first encounter I can say I had with the supernatural was with my grandparent's cat Spooky (ironic I know) he was a black cat that died of old age. We were living with them at the time and I often slept in the living room because I just had trouble sleeping. One night my grandma had made chili, one of my favorites, and I had left some out that I couldn't finish. I was in the living room when something woke me up. Thinking it was the dog I went into the kitchen to get him and I saw something on the counter eating out of the chili bowl. I turned on the light but nothing was there, but the chili was almost gone and there was black hair on the counter, the cat was black. The next day my grandma told me that she used to leave chili out for the cat when he was alive because he liked it so much.
Another time, and probably the scariest, happened at Creek House, an old shut-down museum in Elkhart, IN. My friends grandmother whom she lived with was the curator for Ruthmere, one of the most famous houses in IN so they gave her Creek House to live in while working there. It was a huge 5 bedroom house that was absolutely gorgeous. Throughout my times staying there I had many experiences. Once while there we saw the house on scariest places on earth...comforting right? As hard as it seems to believe we used to see people walking around, hear the piano playing, and once a blood stain seemed to appear on the ceiling. But probably the most remarkable to me happened one night when I was on the phone with Nicole, the girl that lived there. I heard a loud noise and then heard her scream. She was home alone and had heard a loud crashing sound and thought someone was breaking in. She used 3 way and called the police. When they got there they searched all around the house and found a cracked window, but there were no footprints or sticks or anything in the snow outside the window.
These are just a few instances I've experienced. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the other wordly or your own ghost stories.

The day my mom passed away her alarm clock started flashing. My dad and her's was on the same breaker so this wasn't possiable. It did that for awhile.

One of the scariest things I experienced though was my mom said my dad's name. I heard her voice through the wall. My dad had just gotten out of the shower. My dog took one look at the wall (where the bathroom is behind) and freaked out and jumped on the couch. He was so scaried. He knows that wasn't my dad's voice. My dad came out with a strange look on his face and told us what he heard.

I believe in ghost, but I am not totally a believer 100% until I actually see one or distinctly hear one myself. I would love to see one. seriously. I think it would be cool.

Your experiences are creepy as well. I get creepy vibes about people and places. some places I think something bad has happened then most the time I find out and it sucks.

Wow that totally weird. We were freaked out? I think at first I would've been but then I would have been at peace knowing your mom was still there and watching out for you guys. I would love to go stay in a really haunted place for a night and see what happens. And yeah I know what you mean about the vibes thing, but I usually have dreams about good things happening and then they do, not bad ones.

I just don't know. I'm not a believer of many things without a logical, scientific explanation, but I've definitely seen some strange things that could be explained as "ghosts".

F*** Religion. Read more here:

I'm not usually either but having those experiences leaves no question in my mind.
