As a teen, it IS ok to be a little childish sometimes.

Right now as I watch the High School Musical 2 music video for "gotta go my own way" and listen to Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers, I tend to wonder if I act and seem too much like a little girl.

I mean I do watch The Disney Channel and Nickelodeon, but what does that mean. I am 17 years old and I do work at Club Libby Lu. Everytime I go to work I am surrounded by everything that a little girl loves. For instance, I know a Hannah Montana Dance, I do love Classic Disney movies, and I do like Hannah Montana and High School Musical.

I get crap from my twin sister all the time. For example:

~Today we were in the car and a radio advertisment comes on saying "ATTENTION ALL KIDS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN PURSUING A CAREER IN ACTING. TRY OUT FOR SHOWS LIKE SUIT LIFE OF ZACH AND CODY, HANNAH MONTANA, AND PHIL OF THE FUTURE"

Of course my sisters reaction is "Oh, Val you could be on Hannanh Montana!"

And her boyfriend and my friends are also in the car.

Okay, SO WHAT IF I LIKE HANNAH MONTANA! I have to deal with it and I dont care. If it's interesting to me then I don't care what others should think. Right?

If you like watching them watch it. Don't let others tell you what you can and cannot do or watch. I bet you they probably watch it when no one is looking. I love the High School Musical Movies. I used to watch blues clues, spongebob and saddle club all the time, but lately my tastes have changed to CSI, Whose Line is it Anyway, Dirty Jobs, Mythbusters, and such. I love movies where people are acting really stupid like the scary movies, everyone I knew hated them but this year I made a new friend and it turns out she loves stupid movies too. SO your friends like some things you do, do those things with them, If they don't like the tv shows you like, who cares, it's not their choose, it's yours.

Blue's Clues was good until the new guy took over, IMO. I never really liked the new guy.

That said, I'm 20 and still watch things like Degrassi when I get the chance. I'm not really into the newer "little kid" shows, but that's more because the quality has gone down over the years (I grew up watching things like Gargoyles, so yeah, I have high standards in my cartoons).

I am 18 and I watch it and I know lots of people my age that watch it. It's entertaining, no matter what age you are. My mom watches it for goodness sakes!

I think more teenagers should embrace their childish interests. For one, some of those shows are good. (personally I don't like Hannah Montana or HSM, but everyone can like their own thing.) Maybe watching these shows could help us relax once in a while and we can forget a few of our problems. The same reason teens take drugs, but without the physical side effects.
