Here's a real cowboy hero, riding for freedom to save justice in America. Howard Wooldridge, from Ft. Worth originally, road his horses across the US. It took them three years to cross the county as a promotional event for Law Enforcement Against Prohibition. Now, Mr. Wooldridge goes to Washington. Read his newsletter, LEAP ON THE HILL.

Recently Howard was invited to participate in a one hour TV show, American Dream which dealt with the topic of Justice in America (21 February: Human Rights in the US) as it relates to our massive numbers of citizens in prison. He was joined by a representative of the Brookings Institute and a victim’s rights advocate.

Speaking of American heroes, did you catch the NFL commercial just before the start of the game, titled “We Are Americans”? It featured character actors, current and past NFL greats, politicians, the widow of Pat Tillman and others performing a rendition of the Declaration of Independence (scroll down to play a Utube copy)

Church, business, financial and government leaders have problems with addictions to power and money. Addiction is treatable in most cases. Leaders, thus corrupted, play on our fears to make us more accepting of their waste of our precious lives and resources.

"Abraham Lincoln had it right. Our task should not be to invoke religion and the name of God by claiming God's blessing and endorsement for all our national polices and practices -- saying, in effect, that God is on our side. Rather, Lincoln said, we should pray and worry earnestly whether we are on God's side."- Jim Wallis author of GOD'S POLITICS.

In this frame of mind, with modern unbiased, science based statistical reporting our worries are over. We can see where our laws are causing more harm than good and change accordingly. Empirical statistical evidence strongly shows that more democracy leads to less internal violence and democide. Democide is a term coined by political scientist R. J. Rummel in his book, DEATH by GOVERNMENT to describe "the murder of any person or people by a government, including genocide, politicide and mass murder."

Barry Cooper is running for Congress as a Libertarian candidate in the 31st Congressional District in Central Texas. He advocates the legalization of all drugs. If the laws changed, he said, addicts would receive better treatment, drug-fueled crime would plummet and illegal drug empires would collapse.

Similar to LEAP's message but, "We don't agree philosophically at all on these issues," said Jack Cole, executive director and former undercover officer for the New Jersey State Police. "He thinks he should be able to school people on how to break the law, we believe in changing the law."

Drug laws will be broken, whether or not the law is changed, is Barry's stance. He will continue to try to help people avoid jail time for nonviolent behavior.

In Louisiana a newborn was hospitalized after doctors discovered marijuana in his system shortly after his birth and sheriff's investigators arrested the mother. What about all the fetal alcohol syndrome babies that have been ignored for years and fill our prisons with victims of this abuse and neglect because they can not comprehend the consequences for their actions?

Cannabis is one of the most benign chemicals we can ingest. Arresting nonviolent people for making a safer health choice in a medicinal/recreational drug is reefer madness. Can law enforcement find something better to do?

Current policy attracts those interested in working in a corrupt system and milking it, thereby creating a pervasive disrespect for the law. Our constitution is based on Christian principals. Constitutional policy would attract those interested in making things run with the milk of human kindness. The sweet milk of human desire or our consuming passions can destroy us or, as we gain more control, make us stronger.

Our heroes, who have given their lives for this country, died for freedom and for making this world a better place will have died in vain; if the American dream of self-government free of tyranny and big government oppression dies. Throughout history, big government has caused more harm than good; often hiding tyranny under the guise of good intentions. Our founders knew big government would always mean a gang of evildoers.

Downsize big government and save the American dream of self-government free of tyranny and oppression! Restore justice; construct science based drug policies about saving and rehabilitating instead of ruining lives.

Get tough on violent crime! Warriors can get their adrenaline rush increasing public safety; chasing murderers and violent sexual predators. Stop drug war violence! Legalizing and regulating drug distribution would immediately cut off the major source of funding for terrorists worldwide and could increase our tax base.

There is no worse tyranny than to force us to pay for what we do not want, merely because big government thinks it's good for us. Support for the war on drugs is inconsistent with support for individual freedom, Constitutional or small government and the teachings of Jesus, the Prince of Peace
