I am so sick and tired of the news media always talking about entertainers and their lives. That is not important. Who cares about who is married, who is pregnant, who got arrested and all the stupid and idiotic thing that they do. I care more about the Real issues in the world. For instance, the news media needs to be talking and discussing about our economic issues, people and families that have necessaties and who or where they can go for help and other positive information. The topics that should be available are those with good news and role models. If there are news about a public figures is should be what they are willing and/ or going to do for the community. They are entertainers for a reason, to entertain. There personal lives is non of my business or anyone else's for that matter. Leave them alone and talk about real stuff.
Who do people find amusement in the lives of other people. Not only do people idlelize and copy these entertainers but they almost do anything to get close to them. For example, paparattzzi -- thousands of dollars for a picture of a human being. Now does that really make sense? They put there pants on one leg at a time like everyone else. The only difference is that there job is to entertain and get paid very well.

News is a business. People working in that industry are trying to make a living just like anybody else. Therefore, they're going to report on whatever sells. Sadly, it's the gossip about celebs and such that sell the most. The majority of the public would way rather read some juicy lines about someone's hush-hush wedding than read an article about Afghanistan.
I agree that the amount of media coverage used on celebrities is sickening. However, we should point fingers less to the media and more to the general public buying and watching the media's stuff. After all, if magazines, newspapers, and newscasts weren't making big bucks off certain stories and subjects, they wouldn't be continuing to feature them.
