Recently we have received several requests/complaints/inquiries regarding what might broadly be called "virtual harassment." We take these complaints seriously. While ProgressiveU cannot monitor every post and comment on the site, we value every member's contribution to the community.
This fall we changed the site so that only registered users can post comments. We will continue to add new features that allow you to filter posts and comments so you can find the posts and comments that are most useful for you.
We do occassionally remove posts or comments, or even block users. However, in general we prefer not to do this. While we agree that some users are far from polite, and others are outright obnoxious, we generally don't block users just for being obnoxious or stupid.
As we pointed out in this post, sometimes it's best to step away from the computer, take a deep breath, and say to yourself "these are just words on a computer screen." Once you start doing that, you'll soon realize that some of those words on the computer screen have real power, and others are best ignored.
If you are blogging on this site you should consider yourself a current or future leader. Not everyone is brave enough to lay out their thoughts for the whole world to see. If you can practice writing down your thoughts and then sorting out the useful feedback from the irrelevant, you will be an even stronger leader in the future.
We know that different people have different needs, and while ProgressiveU cannot be all things to all people, please do continue to give us your feedback, requests for improvement, and your individual concerns.
people than you think that virtually harass. I have had many comment where people so mean or derogatory things to me and all because of an opinion. Even if you dont agree with something i think that you should respect someones opinion.
