February 20th, waiting outside, in a line of activists, college students, and fellow society members ready for change, I await to be recessed and filed into the auditorium to hear our former president, our 42nd president to be exact, Bill Clinton, speak for a rally following the campaign of "Solutions For America"--the campaign of his wife, Hillary Clinton. I wait in line outside, behind hundreds, possibly a thousand, outside of the University of Houston campus pavilion. It has been raining, on and off all day, but that will not stop this determined crowd. It is time; we enter in with our tickets that were handed to us after nearly an hour of wait-- commitment sheets pledging volunteer work for the Hillary campaign. Searching for the best location of sitting, a volunteer comes up to me, suggesting that I go on down to the floor to hear Clinton speak; I graciously take the offer, enthused, I am now on the floor. After briefings by reverends, congressmen, and city officials, all with exquisite speaking of Hillary, it is time for Bill, time for Bill Clinton. He walks to the stage; he begins to speak, free from papers with pre-planned words; I am in a state of awe. The terms of morality and ethics come to play; He is seeking a great president, one that will do better than his two terms in office, and one that will bring change and solutions that America needs right now. There is no doubt in his mind that this great, possibly future president is Hillary R. Clinton. Setting the fact aside that they are bound by marriage, the crowd believes him, they believe in someone that set this country in a better path for eight years, and these people want this path back. Topics of universal health care, education, the environment, and children are brought up. All topics which he says Hillary to put first, and in America as of right now, this is where we need the most attention. I ingest and digest each word, repeating key issues in my head for later reference. "We need to get out of Iraq"; "with the costs of this war, we can pay for every child, man, and woman to have health care". These are words of action, and action is what Hillary advocates, not words, but actions. I know, and everyone should attempt to realize, she is strong willed and she will set out to get things done; she is a doer. Words from Bill pour out into greater detail on Hillary's topics; breaths and syllables which I never want to end, continue for longer. Bill states, in my vivid memory, nearly word to word (do not harass if the exact clauses are out of order), "I want to see the day where there is an African American president, an Asian president, Hispanic, Native American, but right now, we need a great president". Those words hi-light in my mind, and I know that this great president will be Hillary; not because we are of the same gender, or same epidermis, but because she speaks on action, and motivation for us, for the people, to let us experience the best of our country, and get us out of this debacle known as the Bush Administraton. I believe in her; I believe what Bill Clinton says. "Hillary! Hillary! Hillary! Solutions for America". Solutions for you and I.
Proceed to the Podium, Mister Clinton.
