My 1st Blog Ever

Well. First of all, to let you all know, I am quite new to this whole blogging world. I do, however, find this type of expression interesting and hope to share ideas with you all. It has been made apparent to me that my opinions and views on certain things are usually different than the mainstream. So, I hope not to offend anyone with anything I may say in a blog. I am open to other's viewpoints and embrace what people share with me.

Also, I am currently enrolled in an argumentative writing class. Unfortunatly, I am a terrible writer :/ I hope that this site with assist with my writing skills. It would be great to receive feedback from yall on my blogs. Some constructive criticism would be great! I look forward to this experience and reading yall's blogs!!!

I love to meet new people and learn of other cultures so feel free to drop a line and tell me about yourself and your beliefs. If I have missed out on any wonderful blogs please let me know about what I missed out on so I can catch up! Hopefully I will create some friendships along the way :]

Thank You <3

First off, you're not a terrible writer. I hope you're enjoying the argumentative writing, welcome to the site :-)

Newbie Mistake #1:
Posting an Introductory post. This is unfair if you're in the contest as you are certianly not progressive and are getting 50 points for talking about yourself.

Newbie Mistake #2:
Posting a blog about everyday life.

Just FYI

...ooo, you probably scared her off. If I got a post like that from a (*gasp*) faculty member when I first joined, I probably would've run off in tears. :p

I would like to point out to the newbie that:

a) you are not a terrible writer. Your writing can use improvement, certainly, but everyone's writing can, and unlike some people, your writing actually attempts to be clear, concise, and correct. So you have a good start there.

b) No one wants to hear about someone talking about how they're a terrible writer. Because if you're a terrible writer, why should I read your blog? :p If you feel you're a bad writer, keep it to yourself and your rantings at friends/your journal/whatever.

c) Intro posts and posts about yourself ARE okay... IF they are "progressive". For instance, one of my posts ("Growing up lesbian in Israel", it's in the top-rated if you want to see it) is about me... but it also connects the subject of me to other people and talks about a larger group of people and is relevant to the bloggers here.

d) Everyday life is fine too... IF your everyday life is interesting and progressive and you have something specific and relevant to write about. i.e., if I go to class and there ends up being an interesting political debate that I think ProU readers could gain from, I can write about that.

Nicholas is a wise man, you should listen to him, but remember the loopholes and that he won't REALLY bite off your head.

I am not a man. I am hardly mature enough to be my age (18). But I do get frustrated easily and I am known for barking, not biting.

Hmm... calling you "boy" though would sound rather derogatory imo.

Person? God? I like the sound of "Deity," personally.
