My fault? No. My choice? Yes.

We hold our destiny in our own hands. We are the ones who decide exactly what will happen to us. What is my fault that my leg was nearly completely severed? No. But it was my choice to relearn to walk. Was it my fault my peers looked down upon my boyfriend for not being the same race? No. But it was my choice to let them know race didn't matter. Was it my fault my family was struggling to pay the bills? No. But it is my choice to try as hard as I possibly can to earn as much money as I possibly can to receive my own education.

We can't control the inevitable mistakes and experiences we might have to go through, but what about the outcome of each individual situation? Yes, that we can control.

Instead of telling myself I couldn't do anything about how I looked, acted or behaved, I decided to choose my own destiny. Today, I will make a decision and stick to it. I'll leave the unavoidable up to God, and take everything I can control into my own hands. I'm going to live for today.

There should be no more "tomorrow" or "later". In order to see a result, I have to believe that result can happen, and I have to do something about it.

I love your blog. This blog shows that you are optomistic about life and are prepared for the obstacles you have faced. I can relate to you.

I feel that I'm lucky that I'm an just an ordinary girl. I'm glad I can be someone to relate to, hope more people out there will see the same.

That's a very good philosophy, a sort of "looking to the future" kind of optimism. I like it, and it separates this blog from other blogs that just blather on about...nada.
