I have always wanted to know, what exactly is wrong with being homosexual or bisexual and why people are so against same sex marriages. I have heard that somewhere in the bible it says that it is a sin for a man to lay in bed with another man. The thing is, I have never been shown the verse/s that say such. As of the time I'm writing this, I am also searching for said verses to see if they actually exist or if they're just interpretations of what was said. I have searched the internet and occasionally skimmed through the bible, hoping for some small shred of evidence that it says somewhere that it is a sin. But I have not found any.
The reason that I have such a strong opinion that being homosexual and same-sex marriages is not wrong is because I, myself, am bisexual, as was my previous girlfriend. I have not come out and said that anywhere as of yet, but she has, and she was continually was picked on because of it. That I would not stand for. I was asked to write a report last year about a controversial issue and I chose this. Many people at my school since have changed their opinion on this subject because of said paper that I wrote.
Many people I asked about this subject say that they are against it because it is against what they were grown up with. Many people also said that it's just gross seeing two guys or two girls walking around, holding hands and showing other signs of affection. A few people also said that they thought it was wrong because that's what it says in the bible and every time I ask them what chapter it was in, they didn't know.
Many people, though, will not be swayed on this subject and still pick on, beat up, and sometimes murder other people because they are gay/lesbian/bisexual. I think that it has come too far. I'm hoping whoever reads this helps me see the other side of this argument, or can supply some kind of proof as to why it is so wrong in the first place.

There is an actual verse from the Bible that says that, I don't know it exactly as I am not Christian, but you'll be able to find it on this site as it has been referenced in recent blogs. But really, why does it matter? If it is written in the Bible (which it is), does that change anything? If it wasn't, people would still have their issues with it, and even though it is, many are still accepting.
It's not going to change anything, it's just that a lot of people use that as an excuse to why it's wrong. It's just that I'd like to know what chapter and verse it is and I would like to read it myself. And I agree, many more people are accepting it.
"Because the bible says so" is a lame excuse for ignorance and intolerance.
I'm not religious, but from what I understand, God is the only one that can judge. Not to mention that, from a religious perspective, God loves everyone. Check out wouldjesusdiscriminate.com.
Some people fear things they don't know, understand, or are not used to. Fear leads to hate and a stronger obedience to what they think they know.

but in my opinion, everything about being bi or homosexual just seems wrong. like, just makes me feel very uncomfortable.
but i'm not intolerant of it at all.
and yeah, i've seen the passage. there should be one in genesis definitely and one in Deuteronomy.
but i'm not a bible thumper, as my dad calls them, so i can't recite it for ya. :p
The verse is in Levicticus chapter 20, but it also says that children that dishonor their parents shall be killed. Either way I would have been stoned to death.
