Experiments are always fun....

I decided to try out something new this summer.  I am going to try to balance out my eating habits.  I'm keeping a food journal and counting calories along with it.  I am tired of my parents calling me fat so I'm doing something more about it.  Plus I want to try to wear a bikini this summer.  I would be great.
My dad asked me what was the journal for and I told him and he almost went crazy.  Especailly when I told him how much calories I need a day.  He thinks that I am going to get fat off of it.  I am going to try it out for a while and if I do gain weight, I'm going to alter my plan so I can lose a little and still maintain it.
My mom wants me to lose a ton of weight or at least that's the vibe I am getting from her but I'm going to try for 140 which is 5 pounds less than what I am right now.  I think it should take me 4 weeks to lose 5 pounds.  I read in my health book from college that it's healthier to lose weight slowly which makes sense.  I don't want to damage my body.  It said that, on average, I should lose 1-1/2 pounds each week.
Well i think it's a good plan and I am willing to try it!  Wish me luck!

I guess I can't blame you. It's just the fad nowadays to go anorexic, become unattractive walking skeletons, and die of malnutrition even though you're surrounded by a lot of yummy food. Good luck!

I should start doing that. Just look at your "normal weight" before you loose too much. It tells you how much someone of your height should weight. Don't forget, we all make mistakes, you are bound to mess up now and there, but just stick to it. Luck!

Your parents shouldn't be telling you that you're fat. And how tall are you? 145 really isn't that much.

Parents are supposed to be supportive. Don't listen to them, I bet you're gorgeous :) Lose weight for you, not to conform to a shallow society.
