Are marriages something that we need to worry about? Just because many people cannot relate to the marriage issue doesn't mean that it shouldn't be talked about.
Is politics something that should be talked about? It is rather a personal issue
If you find it necessary ever, to share something personal. Like your beliefs or anything remotely personal please do us a favor and keep it to yourself. You know who I am talking about. Of course I am kidding. But that is how I felt about it. I felt like I was told that I cannot talk about something that was relevent to me.
I was sharing from personal experience. People share all the time. I was hoping to find other women who could relate to the situation. Instead I was made to feel old and inappropriate.
I am going to college. I have a right to be here. It makes me think that you can only be on this site if you are young and opinionated and want to bully people.
I talk about what affects me and anyone around me. If you don't fall into that catagory on the subject I am writing about don't read it. If I find something on here that is interesting I read it. If I don't think it is appropriate to me I certainly don't post to that person saying so because it could be relavent to someone else.
Granted I had a post saying it was okay and relavent but having several comments saying it was too personal was rather irritating.
I may continue to post but I am not so sure.
Yes, I am whining. I have a right to do that.

But I wouldn't worry too much. Just ignore the people who aren't civil, they aren't worth worrying about. Or at least that's the approach I've usually taken.
Thanks so much..I just felt like whining about it for a minute.
*pst* I think I have a liiiiiittle more experience in what belongs and what doesn't than the newer members of the site... We say high school drama doesn't belong, and we mean it. But there are plenty of ways to talk about high school drama in a way that does fit with the mission of the site.
If no one posted anything personal, we wouldn't have some great blogs about domestic violence, about dealing with children that are handicapped in one way or another, or even about how someone's religion influenced the way they felt about a certain topic (whether it be something controversial like abortion, or something tame like seeing equality).
