I think they should instate a blanket nap time policy in school (please excuse the poorly placed pun)
First of all, I would like to apologize if any of my entries seem grammatically amiss or incoherent at times. It is not intended, but if you read further onto my rant you may find the cause of my hurly-burliness.
Personally, my day starts at 5. I get dressed, eat breakfast, and run both my vocal exercises and my dance routine twice. Then I study whatever may be tested that day and hope for the best. I walk to school around 7:20, and after dodging eight lanes of traffic, am usually present by the 7:48 late bell. From there I go into nine straight periods, as I opted out of my lunch, ranging from advanced sociology and analysis of British to women's chorale and introduction to dance part 2. I usually find time to cram a yogurt down my throat somewhere around economics. I then go to a lovely 6 hour rehearsal for the incipient spring musical, Oliver!. Additionally, any scene I'm not in, I have to find a way to sneak to mandatory chorale rehearsal, one of my eleven weekly dance classes, peace and justice group, literary magazine, or liturgy committee meetings. So, for argument's sake, let's say I get home at 10:30 (if only) I then have about 2 hours of completing precalc problems or finishing my sociological analysis of how social networking online fits in Maslow's hierarchy of needs on the relatedness scale. Again, somewhere in there I will take 15 minutes to eat a salad or something and boil tea. So, at 12:45 I'll jump in the shower and set up for the next day. By the time I get into bed, it is 1 AM.
Averaging this schedule on half the sleep I'm supposed to get is getting redonkulous. Therefore, I think a half hour nap would be a good thing in schools.

I know where you're coming from, but it is kind of your responsibility to make sure that you're getting enough sleep. Maybe just 8 classes? I do think that there should be a "nap room" available at schools. I have heard of schools with these, and after the change over, there is supposedly a huge improvements with the students. I, for one, would much rather have nap time than lunch.

I would absolutely LOVE the idea of nap time. No teen that I know EVER gets enough sleep considering the amount of work and things that we do everyday. Seriously, teens today (including myself) do so much and I always wonder, "Where did time go?" Kids honestly don't have enough time to do everything in the span of 24 hours -- from studying, to doing homework, to working a part-time job, to volunteering, to doing a sport, to doing after-school activities. It's hard for a teen to fit all of that after a 7-8 hour day of school and only having the rest of the day to complete everything (not even including resting at home, dinner, and actually getting to breathe). Getting enough sleep is just not as big of a priority to most kids -- It should be, but it's just too hard to fit it in our already booked schedules.

I say that all the time!!! Little kids get nap time so why shouldn't we? They color and have recess AND get to nap! =( We need one too!

I took 5 AP courses and a TA hour for my senior year. Guess what the TA hour is for? lol
