At times you might find yourself in a poistion in which you're with someone who doesn't have the same viewpoint as you. I know I have. Basically, the one that I've encountered the most is with someone who complains.
I'm not gonna lie, I complain alot, too. Homework. Grades. Weather--whatever. I get that, I do. But what annoys me the most is when people nitpick and insult people and ideas that are completely out of their control. Okay, so you're either of age to vote, or you're pretty close. (Well, I'm assuming, anyway). So many young people don't care about going to vote when they can, and yet they complain about everything that gets done.
I can't tell you how many times in the past week I've heard people complaining about the war. They would insult the soldiers, say they aren't doing their job. You know what? Those who sit in air conditioned classrooms all day don't really have a right to complain. They aren't the ones fighting on the sidelines. They can't say that there shouldn't be a war, when they are doing nothing to stop it. You wanna talk about polotics, complain about President Bush or whatever politician, soldier, law officer, etc--that's fine. I might not like it, someone else might not...but it's your choice. But stop for a second. Put yourself in their shoes. Do you think people wanna wait in abandoned houses with no running water or air just to catch a criminal? Have you gotten spit at, hit, bitten or called names like "Pig" or "Lazy? Maybe I'm wrong, but I guess that you haven't. So then tell me, do we really have a right to complain?
While we sit reading and typing aay at our computers, while we have a cornucopia of channels to surf...while we can walk a few feet to the fridge when we only think we're hungry-men and women are fighting for our right to do those things. So why insult them? Why say they aren't doing their job? Until you've been in any of their shoes, take a step back and think. Could you do it?

Wow. Um, who's been saying that the troops aren't doing their jobs? Because even being against all wars, that makes me pretty mad. Sounds kind of ignorant. Regardless of why they're actually at war, I support them. Not the people pulling their strings, but them? All the way.

"They would insult the soldiers, say they aren't doing their job. "
I want to know the motherfuckers who said that. That is such an awful, awful thing to say. No matter what happens we should always support our troops--they're doing their job. What are they supposed to do? Government says "go to war" they say "nope don't feel like it?"
Grrr. Great blog.
