Do you really, really, super love Jesus? That's what God asked Simon (who is known as both Peter and Simon throughout the New Testament) after Jesus came back. In fact, Jesus basically asked do you even really, really like me, because Simon's actions did not reflect those of someone who even holds Jesus in high regard much less super loves him. The Bible calls Peter, Peter when he shows his "super love" for Jesus but refers to him as Simon when he did not show that he loved Jesus with all of his heart. In Peter and John he is referred to, almost exclusively, as Simon Peter, because both Peter and John knew he was still striving to get to the point where he could say he "super loved" Jesus. So what about you? Do you really, really, super love Jesus? I know that if you saw all my mistakes and faults you would question me, so strive for perfection in thought and action. It is in fact very difficult to stay on such a narrow path, but at the same time it is the most rewarding thing you could ever do. Lastly, I know that perfection is unattainable until after death but, striving to get there is the only way to prove that you do really, really, super love Jesus.

I think that deep within us is the desire to super love (heehee) Jesus. I think the story is there--just like that of Thomas--because at some point in our lives we are all a "Simon" or we are all "Thomas". The beauty is that no matter how much we botch up God will forgive us if we ask Him earnestly.
Actually, no. I see absolutely no reason to love a corpse that caused billions of deaths. And if Jesus were real... I still see no reason to love someone who allows innocent people to burn in hell.
2 quick things...
1) i'm not sure i understand how jesus caused millions of deaths. explain?
2) out of curiousity, what's your definition of innocence?
