No loopholes when it comes to torture. Those who committ torture will be prosecuted. Their day will come

The Military Commissions Act aka the torture bill gave immunity to Bush administration officials from beign prosecuted for war crimes however there is hope.

This page tells of how we can still get torturers prosecuted even if their own government granted them immunity.

Germany has universal jurisdiction when it comes to torture. So Rumsfeld can be prosecuted for War Crimes in German Courts. Cross your fingers. We should pursue this possibility.

From the page: "Because the recently passed Military Commissions Act (aka: The Torture Act) included immunity for all administration officials from war crimes prosecution, the CCR is initiating a case in German courts next week, "under their law, which is universal jurisdiction, which basically says a torturer is essentially an enemy of all humankind and can be brought to justice wherever they're found.""

P.S. The Act also made rape of prisoners no longer considered torture.

The moral of all of this is if you torture someone you will face up to your crimes. It doesn't matter who is protecting you because torturers will face their day in court to pay for the crimes against humanity they committed.
