A Better Future?

This youth of ours: we need to step it up people. I'm not against the party scene, I'm not against drinking and smoking and what not, I surely don't promote it, but I'm not trying to bring YOU down. Back in the 70's, sure the stoners smoked weed, the youth drank, but they had meaning. They protested, they knew what was going on in this world. Half of our youth doesn't even know what's going on in DC, rather the world. People who say "this and that" are wrong and immoral, need to stop saying it, and starting showing it. People who say abortion is alright and the war in Iraq is wrong need to be out protesting it.

No one has political thought anymore. No one gives a damn what horrors are happening in other countries, let alone our own. We need to stop being cowards and start standing up against what is wrong. Protest the war if you don't agree with it, but don't complain if you have done nothing to stop it. Use your power of free speech.
What's wrong with us? Are we scared to stand up? Are we scared to say NO? Are we scared to start a fight over an issue that really matters? I'm not, I'll fight for what I believe in, and if you don't agree with me, at least you believe in something.

People who think mom and dad are always going to be there are very wrong. We all need to do is open our eyes up and learn a little bit. Don't be ignorant, don't talk about things you have no idea of; don't try to argue a political situation when you have no clue what you're talking about.

Do you ever look around your school or community and realize that our generation is in ruins? Who is going to take over the duties of the adults today? The select few of us who stand strong and understand the problems we face at an early age are rare. You don't find leaders at our schools. You find followers, you find people who smoke and drink because those cute boys and girls do. You find people who leech off of others who are leeching off others. No one is original anymore. No one stands up for what they believe in any longer. Our youth needs to get informed fast or we will be left behind. I don't think anyone realizes that in ten to twenty years we will be the adults. Start watching the news, and not the fake news about Spears' 8th kid, or about how so and so did this. Watch CNN. Just an hour. Skip an hour of myspace and watch the news. Be informed. Learn. Be human.

We have such a little time on this earth. 100 years if you’re lucky. So much changes in 100 years, yet 100 years is nothing. 2000 years ago Jesus walked. That's it. Will you be remembered after you die? For ten years? For a century? You choose.
Do something great in this world. Don't worry about anything. Don't worry about being judged, don't worry about what people think. Being bold is admirable. If you think I'm wrong, tell me. Stand up to me. Everyone needs to start acting like adults and stop complaining about things that don't matter. And people that say "but we're just kids", how long are you going to be able to use that?
Everyone can make a difference. Are you willing to start?

No one gets to choose who they are and what advantages and disadvantages one is born with. Some are born rich, some poor. Some are white, others black. There is no difference between one person and another. We ALL have an equal opportunity to do great in this world. It's not what cards you have, but how well you play your hand. Anyone and I mean anyone, can get up right now and make a change in this world we live in. But everyone is too scared, everyone is too afraid to step out of the box we live in.

I believe it is time for our generation to throw pity and regret out the window because you can't change the past in which you lived, you can only make a better future. Everyone has screwed up, everyone has wanted to take something back, but you can't. Stop dwelling on the past and move on from that boy that broke your heart, move on from the fight you got in with your parents, move on. The only thing to come out of regret is sorrow.

Another thing, we need to start respecting ourselves and each other. Why pick fights with kids just because you can? Does that make you cool? Does not caring about anything make you higher than the rest of us? No. We are all equal, no matter what so and so say. We need to start loving ourselves and everybody around us. We all have our flaws, and we all have our highlights. Use them to your advantage. Love yourself. Appreciate what you've done so far in this life, and if you haven't done anything to appreciate get out there and do it! Only you can make a difference in this life, waiting around for an invisible force isn't going to help you. Don’t take "no" for an answer. Everyone is here for a reason; don't let your reason become a mistake. Do yourselves a favor and get informed.

We should all dedicate more time and effort to our intelligence, as it is what separates us from all other animals.
