The Race For The White House '08: Religion?

Tagged:  •

Today, the U.S.A focuses on the elections for 2008... Who will win? Democrats or Republicans? Why should we vote for them, just because they're the first female to actually make it this far in the race, the first African American to run, or because they're religious?
There are two things in life that don't mix and that is religion and politics, and when someone tries to throw religion and politics together it doesn’t end well. Each candidate is trying to solicit the voters into voting for them based on religion. I can see why race or gender could affect the race but religion?

I care more about healthcare, I care more about what the future president is going to do about Iraq, the war on terrorism or how this president is going to fix our economy; not religion where everything could change in a heartbeat. One day the candidate could be catholic to appeal to the catholic side of the voting, the next day Christian, the next day Mormon, the next day Evangelical, and so on and so forth just to get the votes.

Religion isn’t something that needs to be brought into a race of madmen and madwomen, it’s something that needs to stay in the church, in the candidate’s personal life and out of the race for the white house.
