After Valentines Day

Place me like a seal over your heart,
like a seal on your arm;
for love is as strong as death,
it's jealousy unyielding as the
grave.
It burns like a blazing fire,
like a mighty flame.
Many waters cannot quench love;
rivers cannot wash it away.
If one were to give
all the wealth of his house for love,
it would be utterly scorned.
Song of Songs 8:6-7

The love in Song of Songs (aka Song of Solomon) are an example of love between a man and a woman. That love is to be an example of our love for Christ. He desires to be in your heart. His love is not strong as death, it is stronger. His love for you burns like a great inferno that nothing can quench. Nothing can stop Him from loving you, and nothing can separate us from the love of Jesus Christ. His love is worth more than anything. Nothing even compares.
As the song says
"I love You more than anything,
and I need You more than anything,
You can move me more than anything,
anything at all."
What love are we running to? The comical, commercial "love" promoted by this world? Or the enduring love of our savior? True love does not come from gifts, or money, or sex, it comes from God. True, pure, everlasting love. All the things of this world will fade, will crumble, will rot.... but God endures. Christ overcomes, and His love lasts.

Does your love reflect Christ? Either in your romantic relationships, or in your daily life with the ones around you, does it reflect Christ?
Human love is a shadow, a reflection of God's love for us. Like the moon reflects the light of the sun. If your love does not reflect Christ, and speak of Him to those around you what purpose does it have?
Place Him as a seal on your heart, as a seal on your arm...for His love is stronger than death, or pain, or persecution. It is stronger than sin, and it is stronger than you can imagine. It burns like a blazing fire for you, and for each of those around you. Burn with His love, His fire. Not the fire of lust and passion for the sinful nature. For sin leads to death, and His love has already overcome sin and death, why still live in it?
Does your love reflect Christ? If not, I ask you....who is moving you....who has your heart?...

This love that we clame, you may hate it, you may think we are insaine for having it. Some may appear hipocritical when they talk about it (as I may). We may seem like we are preaching, scaring, or lying. I assure you that many are, some...without knowing it. I, however, am not lying to you. This love is real, this love is true. Forgive the almost preachy nature of this entry, I only hope to tell of the greatest hope I have in my life.

If all has gone well, and I have not scared you off yet, please tell me what you think, and better yet...please read again. I'm new, and I will be visiting many of your sites soon. Thanks.

Livin' free in Christ,
Heath
