My little sister is in 6th grade and in the middle school. A friend, called X, of hers was online speaking to another friend, called Y, when they began to argue. One thing lead to another and X was making racial remarks to Y!
My dad told me this story today and I was shocked! My mom has told me other stories about these things called "sex bracelets" in the middle school. When I was in 6th grade/junior high, the very last things on my mind were racism and sex! Today kids are so corrupted! When my parents talk about what is going on in schools, I'm astounded. Besides the fact that kids are experiencing these things, they go around and talk about them!
Another, personal, story: My father and I went to pick up my sister and her friend at a 6th grade dance. The two of them are all giddy in the back seat. All of a sudden my sisters friend says, "Did you see "Jane" dancing? She was humping the floor!"
I'm 18, so this type of subject matter would be something I'd talk about (if I really wanted to), and it is coming out of the mouth of a 12 year old! I was disgusted! Then the conversation went from bad to worse! My sister then asked my FATHER what "horny" was or meant. I was speechless to say the least. In 6th grade I was still playing with Barbies and boys still had cooties - I never said those things NOR did I ask my parents about them!
What is up with todays youth?

Although some may argue that it happens for every generation, I agree with you. I think it has to do with the fact that such knowledge is so easy to come by. If you watch one day of TV you will be subjected to numerous sexual innuindos if not the act itself being played out, not to mention the number of racial issues being portrayed. I couldn't say since I am of the generation myself and have no knowledge of previous generations. But such issues have been desensitized to the youth. If you compare movies, music, etc of the 40s to the ones now, you can see the difference.
This is just a guess, because I'm really not sure.
I think that the parents should sit with the kids and keep them in line. It's sad how some kids act now and days. Sleeping with others at such a young age and so forth
I definitely agree that girls are growing up TOO fast these days. Not only do they act alot older than they are these days, they also dress rather provocatively. Not only that, but they are very developed for being so young! I know that me and my friends didn't have boobs that big in the 6th grade! It's very scary how quickly kids are growing up and losing their virginity so early, and trying alcohol/drugs so young. I'm scared to have a girl!
I agree with you, I am shocked at what todays youth are exploiting themselves too, and the increasing population of middle schoolers getting pregnant, its crazy and disgusting!
that is sad, but i think it's because of the media and the fact that parents arn't at home when children get home from school. I really think they also need to limit the amount of television they watch and what they do while on the internet. getting pregnant at the age of 12 is unbeliveable. and do you think i would be asking my mom what horny is at that age, i don't even ask her now, and i'm 19.
