When people read the title they assume I’m some sort of drug addict or something but the thing that I am really addicted to is Pepsi. I have been drinking Pepsi when I was still in diapers. This may seem off topic but I have been a very spoiled child, probably because I’m the first-born. My parents would ask me what I want to eat and they would get me no matter what I asked for whether they had to order it or pick it up or make it. This led to an issue. Whenever I ate, it had to be what I was craving at the moment and I would not eat anything else because I knew my parents would get me what I want. Soon my parents could not keep up with their old methods of spoiling me. They both work now and I come home from college late, so whatever they had leftover was all I was supposed to eat. But like the issue was way back even when I did get what I want. Sometimes when I don’t know what I want, I don’t eat at all. I just drink Pepsi. But by drinking Pepsi I should rather say I live on Pepsi. I used to drink more than 2 of the small bottles a day plus a can at school. This led me to have health problems such as headaches and lack of concentration. I am also very thin and my mother thought I had anemia so that’s what we went to the doctor for (even though she makes me get a blood test every six months and the doctor tells her I’m fine). Instead, the doctor started asking about my nutrition and diet. When he found out how much pop I drank, he said I could end up dying because I drank way too much and I need to start eating. My mom was really mad, that entire ride home she yelled. As soon as we got in the house she dumped all the Pepsi in the sink. When I say I live on Pepsi, I mean literally. When I woke up in the morning and can’t think of breakfast I drink Pepsi. When I think of breakfast but am too lazy to make it, I drink Pepsi. When I study I drink Pepsi. Before I sleep I drink Pepsi. Basically I ate Pepsi. After the doctor incident, I slowly gave it up and I can’t remember how but there came a time when I couldn’t even put it in my mouth anymore. How I got re-addicted? Simple. I just drank a can once. And the next day I drank another can. And now I drink w/e I feel like it. However my problems have increased. I get really bad cramps from the pop I drink. So im going to try to quit again. Starting today, for a week, I will try to not have any Pepsi at all no matter what. Hopefully, this attempt works because I don’t want any more health problems.

when i was in middle school, i was getting a lot of fevers and upset stomachs and i didn't know why. i thought i was starting to get really sick because of this. but i wasn't. i used to be a soda drinker, but i really wasn't addicted to it. i would drink a soda every day. my fave was sprite.
then i talked to my school nurse about it in high school and she told me that it was probably drinking soda every day because it was depleting my immune system. soda is saturated in sugar. that's all it really is. carbonated water with loads of sugar, preservatives (sodium benzoate- doctors found that it might linked to cancer), and coloring. the carbonated water and sugar weakens your immune system that it can let bacteria in so you can get sick more often.
so i stopped drinking soda when i was 14. i replaced soda with water and i haven't had a fever ever since. feels really good, actually. good luck with you quitting soda. i can't believe it- since you were in diapers? wow. just take it a little at a time. that's how i did it. you don't have to have a soda all the time. i only do it once in a while.
thats how i think i first quite. I took less and less everyday. Im glad you left a detailed comment because it was rather educational. Its good to know that im not the only one out there who experiences fevers from pop. I just wanted to know the real cause. Hopefully i will only drink it once a week. O yea, and i do tend to get sick often.
Good luck, my friend, with breaking the habit. Are there any cola supplements you can drink?
The Once-ler: Well, what do you want? I should shut down my factory, fire a hundred-thousand workers? Is that good economics, is that sound for the country?
I don't know but its been three days since i've had any pepsi at all. Whenever I order food now i ask for water. All i've been replacing pepsi with is water. But im amazed since i haven't craved it yet. I hope to make a week and soon never drink it unless i really need too.
