So there is this big debate of Gay marriages going on, but it is mainly between Christians and non-Christians, being that Christians claim that the bible says that homosexuality is wrong. But (drawing from the New Testament because that is what the Christian lifestyle is based off of) the only time I have ever read anything about sexual preference (and I have read the New Testament more than once) is in Acts 15:19-20 after Paul tells the church that Christ’s coming created a new law because the old law was impossible to follow, he then goes onto say, “It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God. Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood.” The next time this is mentioned it simply says, in a letter to the believers in Antioch Syria and Cilicia, “You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality.” Sexual immorality is never defined in the New Testament, so no one can rightly say that homosexuality is wrong.
Another idea that favors both Christianity and homosexuality is the fact that over time God reveals more things about himself. Adam never knew God as the Rock, but David called him that all the time. In the Old Testament Hebrews weren’t allowed to eat pork, but in the New Testament God tells Peter to eat a pig. Perhaps homosexuality has been seen as wrong because of the cultural influence, but it is just recently that God is revealing his will that it is right. Or perhaps it was wrong for those in the Old Testament, but could be right now.
If you see any major flaws in my argument please tell me, but realize I am arguing this to the Christians who are against gay marriage.
What flavors strongly of both religion and homosexuality

Let's take the bare minimum-- the creation of man. Adam, alone with all the other "beasts" of the world. God saw that he was lonely and created a helper comparable to him... woman. The first example of relationship, marriage, union...
This union BEFORE terms like heterosexual or homosexual... long before legal marriages, long before social contracts...
Or, if you wanted to step away from the bible... (which I don't see any need for, but just because)...
Let us look at nature... animals reproduce, animals have mating systems, animals are made to reproduce and survive. Homosexuality is therefore unnatural. It goes against animal instinct, it serves no natural purpose, there is no reproduction... there is nothing but, a continuing argument...
An argument over what is right and wrong, what is natural and unnatural, what should be legally recognized and what should not...
As far as your argument, I am not sure what you mean by:
In Leviticus-- the law prohibits pork... Leviticus is chalk full of laws... now let us look at the NT... there is the coming of Jesus, where law no longer rules but faith rules...
I just don't see your argument as how it pertains to homosexuality...

What I mean by my argument ist hat God doesn't reveal everything at the same point in history, so maybe he could reveal homosexuality as not being in the complete wrong now although he hasn't in history.
As for your idea about how it isn't natural, a lot of things that humans do aren't natural. We have a written language, we wear clothes, ect. I personally am not a lesbian because my body parts seem to fit with a males. However, if two people were in love physical aspects should not keep them apart.
There are things in the New Testament that contradict the Old Testament. However, when the New Testament refers to sexual immorality and gives nothing specific, then people are free to draw from the OT and say "Look, here it says homosexuality is wrong"!
Of course, even if homosexuality is immoral (which is an opinion I do not ascribe to), that has no bearing on whether gay marriage in the United States should be allowed. First of all, biblical rulings have no place in a secular government. Second of all, marriage deals with a contractual agreement with your partner that is recognized by the government. Therefore, even if churches don't have to marry homosexuals the government, being secular and lacking an secular purpose not to allow same-sex marriage, does have to recognize homosexual marriage.

I don't think that religion should have a part in politics, but it seems that the only reason people think gay marraige is wrong is for biblical purpouses.
