I've been learning a lot about the global disaster that is Aspartame. Our government has allowed a terrible neurotoxin to be approved for human consumption all in the name of getting paid. Now that I am aware of the dangers and also that this toxic chemical is in over 8,000 products, I ahave checking into every product I use in my home to make sure it doesn't get into me or my little girls systems. Every night my little two year-old irl brushes her teeth with this Orajel Fluoride free toddler toothpaste. I got it because Fluoride is another chemical that is detrimental to the hman body, but is still available for us to use every day. The FDA is such a joke. Anyway. I was wondering if it has aspartame in it, but thanks to Monsanto, companies are not required to list all ingredients of non-food items. Even though drugs and cosmetics get into our bodies just like food does. Sometimes even faster if it is absorbed through a mucous membrane, such as the inside of our mouths. So I found out it doesn't contain aspartame, but it does have saccharin (Monsanto's first sweet carcinogenic) and a bunch of other scientifically-named stuff I don't have a good feeling about. So I'm not going to use it anymore, and I will be letting them know about why. I don't understand why they acknowledge that fluoride is not safe to ingest, but they think saccharin is ok. I have seen Sweet-n-Low (saccharin) all my life and it has always had the lab rat cancer warning on the back! This is so discouraging. I can't believe our government is doing this to us.

This is a scary and upsetting issue. Here we are, thinking the land of the free and the home of the brave is the safest, best place to live. Now something like this comes up. It makes you wonder what else the government is hiding/profiting off of.
I hope you do know that yes, fluoride is poisonous - but it is also very helpful in SMALL doses. As long as you aren't drinking it by the pint or breathing it in everyday, it's not quite that detrimental. There is fluoride in tap water (to help keep teeth healthy, it prevents cavities). As far as aspartame and saccharine, I haven't done much research on those, but I'm sure it is not too harmful in small doses. And anyway, your child should not be eating too much saccharine anyway if she's not just guzzling down sweets.
By the way, on NPR they said that the sodium benzoate and potassium benzoate (preservative) in soft drinks can and will decompose into benzene, another carcinogen, through time. However, the FDA adamantly states that the benzene amounts are below harmful levels (but are higher than levels in water).
Does this mean you are going to stop drinking coke? Or anyone will? Probably not. THe most is probably drinking it in SMALLER doses. Moderation is the key for everything.
I'm a nurtition facts/ingredients looker and I had no idea there were chemical sweeteners in my TOOTHPASTE.
I used to swallow it when I was little.

Sorry for the multiple postings, but I just thought of a perfect example of moderation: Oxygen. Pure 02 is poisonous. However, I think I am still going to be breathing it.
Wow ok we have a pretty good lifespan. If we banned all of these products that have something detrimental in them guess what we wouldn't have much of anything. Everyone gets too paranoid over any small thing. Don't eat / drink / use too much of anything because too much of anything is a bad thing. Relax. There are tons of products with this bad stuff in them but they can't be that bad because guess what our lifespan is getting longer, and there haven't been reports of it killing people left and right.
The United States has just slid to number 29 in the world in terms of life expectancy.
Do you know the reasons why??? Hint it's about weight and smoking. Everyone gets paranoid everytime someone says something else is poisonous if you relax and use things in moderation it won't be so bad. Don't smoke and don't be fat you'll live a while.
Also, whats the length we are expected to live?
Around 70 years I think. different for men and women. And I'm sorry if you are one of the millions of people who think it's no big deal. Mark my words. Aspartame and diet sodas will be outlawed in the next ten years. Hopefully less. And if you don't think our government is knowingly poisoning us and doesn't care, I think that sucks, because we will never take our country back if it's filled with people who don't think it's a big deal.
I didn't say that they aren't trying to kill us. However, if you take it in moderation you won't die. My family drinks diet well mainly my uncles and my dad however they seem to have no complications. Oldest being 50 something and the youngest is 32. We all workout, run, and generally do the healthy stuff. We don't go nuts and eat only 2 pieces of lettuce with a drip of non-fat dressing, but we don't go to mc d's and order large fries, pop, and a double cheeseburger. Eat half intelligently and yes occasionally spoil yourself and you will be fine. Does any government really care about their people? NO they are already rich or getting rich so they don't care about our woes however they don't want us to all die because then they have no one to tax. If you are chugging a six pack of diet a day then yes it could be a problem but I'm saying like 1 a day tops.
You clearly haven't done enough research on accredited websites. Or looked into the lab tests to see how much was given to the rats to cause cancer. Also Rats have different chemicals in their bladder that don't exist in ours.
Aspartame is safe in small doses. It only caused harm in rats consuming an equivilant of 8-2,000+ sodas.
Saccharin caused bladder cancer because of the rats differences in chemicals.
Splenda however has nothing against it so you can use that fine. But before you say that we are all being poisoned do your research and if you have cite some sources.
