Big Business and Corporate Greed
I hereby declare that big business and corporate greed is responsible for a great, overwhelming majority of the world’s problems. Why? Look at it: why did countries, including the United States, fight war over trade and lead imperialistic policies that resulted in subjugated people, extreme racism, and other inequities that persist today in what are known are third-world countries. All these top executives want not to increase shareholder profits and distribute the wealth, they just want to bring in their big paychecks and ride off the hard work of the working class, the proletariats.
Why does the United States not try to help spread democracy, to help stop genocide in other countries like Darfur (where all Bush does is denounce, and not help) and the Congo, where the Congolese civil war has killed and displaced millions? Because there is no economic interest in those regions of the world, and business lobbies have such huge powers and influences in Congress that they will never do anything to approve of action, unilateral or multilateral, that would prevent such huge human injustices to occur.
I’m not against business or corporations or anything, at least not their inherent value; over half of R&D money comes from corporations, pharmaceutical giants and such, only against corporate greed that basically disregards everything in search of the green treasure. And their advertising manipulates us all.
