Animal cruelty anger

Why is that when it comes to the animals no one really bats an eye? Sure they say they care and will do anything to justify cruelty, but every day you see animals suffering in animal shelters. Animals whos only crime was love a little too much, or was too busy protecing thier home that they disturbed the neighbors. Each and every day someone coughs up $2,000 or more on a purebred dog, because supposedly they are better than the ones in the shelter that are "genetically messed up".

My hatred does not go toward the people who cough up the money, it goes for the breeders. Sure there are legit ones who honestly love thier dogs and care enough to provide a wonderful home. Then there's the others who just want to make money, they don't care if the puppy they sell passes away a couple days after, or even if the puppy gets sold into dog fighting. All they care about is seeing the green get transfered into their bank accounts.

Recently my dog, which was acquired by a breeder by my mom when I was 10, was stolen. He was the only dog we've ever purchased from a breeder, every other dog has always been from shelters. But there was something about the way this little guy looked up at us with beautiful brown eyes. He was the runt so was constantly pushed aside by his mother, but he never gave up. The little guy was a figher and even though still too young to be taken away from his mom the breeder gave him up to us for a mere $250. Which was nothing compared to the years of love, and dedication this little guy gave us. He would always warn us when strangers walked by, he stayed by us through the hardest of times, and he listened whenever we needed him to. He was my one true love.

The people who took him away from me, did it sneakly on July 4th. They succeeded in stealing 5 expensive breeds out of my neighborhood, including the mayor's very own dog.  Two weeks later one dogs body was found on the side of the road, it was my baby. Apparently a neutered 8 year old dog doesn't didn't do much for them so instead of letting him go, they killed him. The only living thing that I have ever cared for was taken from me, for a few houndred dollars?? I would have doubled, no,  quadrupled the amount to have him back safe in my arms.

I think people need to start really looking into where they acquire there pets from so that people won't be driven to such heinous acts of violence. I would like to prevent this from ever happening to anyone else.

Aww, that sucks dear. I'm so sorry about your baby.

I have a pure bred Chihuahua with medical problems galore and a terrier. I didn't pay anything for either of them. We rescued the terrier as she was about to go to the pound and the chihuahua was given to my sister (the owners were breeding their dogs and weren't supposed too because of a condition with the mother). I wouldn't trade either of them for anything in the world.

Sorry again about your dog! That really ticks me off that people do such rotten things.

Thank you!

I'm so sorry. They took away a part of your family and not a lot hurts worse than that.

I have a purebred golden retriever because my mom wanted to show him. It turns out he had a tiny heart murmur when he was two so we had him neutered. Now it cleared up and he doesn't have one anymore, but that's OK because we must have overfed him or something because he's a couple inches taller than they should be :) What really bothers me are all of these puppy mills. I don't even think they're fit to be called breeders. It really does sicken me that people try to make pieces of green paper out of creature's lives.

My heart goes out to you
