When you say cancer, you think of older people, Lance Armstrong, and breast cancer. But what I think people don't realize is that it can happen to anyone, and it can come very unexpected. The warnings in news reports warn you about smoking, too much radiation, and taking birth control for too long: saying that these things can give you more of a chance of getting cancer. I believe it all has to do about genes, because when I was diagnosed at 18 I had done none of these things.
Because of my cancer, I have tried to find people my age that had it as well. You know, to find people to relate to. Can anyone explain the girl getting ovarian cancer at 15, having to get a hysterectimine, and then at 18 getting breast cancer having to remove most of one of her breasts? What about the four 18 to 20 year olds that I know that have malignant melanoma? What about all the BABIES who have Leukemia and are forced to live the only life they know: Chemo, radiation, hospital stays, and bone marrow transplants?
Life doesn't always turn out the way you expect it to, and you all need to be aware of what your body is telling you. I have heard so many stories of the people waiting and waiting to get checked because they were scared. That just made everthing worse for them once they actually went to get checked. I made friends, I lost friends, and I would not even wish this on my worse enemy.
The mentality of many younge people is: Just because you are young does not mean you are immune to diseases like this. This is definitely not true. Just remember: cancer can happen to anyone.

Yeah. A lot of things happen unexpected.. I feel bad for people with cancer like you and your a pretty lady =/
that is scary!! how did you figure out that you had ovarian cancer?
I don't have ovarian cancer. I know someone who had ovarian and breast cancer, it was just an example on how young you can be. I had bone cancer in my leg. and I found out 9 months after the symptoms started (extreme pain in my joint and leg, tiredness, trouble sleeping because of the pain).
