How strict are you with your religion? This is more for people that know about Christianity or are Christian but if you are not go right ahead and read this because I think other religions might have similar policies I am not sure though so it may be a learning experience for us all. I do know however that it is considered a sin or looked down at the church if you have holes in your body (piercing) and tattoos are not exactly welcome either. However, what is your opinion of that should there be exceptions I mean the bible speaks against it yes saying something like don’t mutilate your body and there is always the defense that if God wanted you to have more holes in your body he would have made you that way right. Well here is where thing may go into a grey area for you I have a tattoo and I know other people that have tattoos should the church look down upon that or ever I know some stricter religions will refuse to bury you in their cemetery if you have tattoos or something of the sort. However, what if you get a tattoo devoted to God a cross or a bible verse tattooed on you. Is it still wrong? Also people say now that piercing your body is against God but piercing your ears is somehow okay now for most people. Why wasn’t it further back in time I’ll tell you exactly why because the church continually changes what they interpret the bible as for dos or don’ts. They change with the times shall we say well previously they said all piercing of the body was bad now its everything but your ears. Same with sex outside of marriage now I know that the Catholic religion still very strict on some of these things however other religions are not it went from you can get stoned for having a child out of wedlock to pastors giving lessons to the youth on please don’t do it or we will be mad to if you are going to at least be safe about it for some religions at least. It has just become so relaxed I guess with religion and with the changing times everything else seems to change too. So what do you think is piercing your body bad, getting tattoos, or does it really matter what you do to your body as long as you have faith and try to participate in the church. And do you think the church should really care about any of the above mentioned things because who are they to judge on sinning and your punishment for it right. I mean they would contradict themselves if they tried to stop you from burying someone in their cemetery because they had a tattoo for instance right. I mean are churches not supposed to believe that judgment is solely for the high power to judge that they should leave the punishment up to it I guess.

Proofread, dude! Your posts are okay (though some people are getting annoyed with the constant posts) but you could really improve with some proofreading. Now that I've seen...what...5-7 of your posts within the past 3 minutes I can tell you need to work on some rambling run on sentences and unneeded wordiness. I'm starting to get preachy so I must shut up now.

Okay how about this we'll make a deal. I will proofread my next blog whenever I post it only if you realize that I cannot for the life of me place a comma in the right spot. I have taken many classes in English and despite my teacher's constant lessons on it will never learn how to use a comma correctly.

That's not a very good attitude! You could learn if you would try.

Many verses in the Old Testament forbid marking on the skin/tatoos. However the reason that this was forbidden is because it was a practice of the pagans. In today's society tatoos are no longer a pagan practice. The Bible also says to glorify God with you body for it is a temple. I do think it depends on what kind of marking you have put on your skin. Everything must be done in moderation. I do not think that a swastika glorifies the Lord. Same thing with piercing. It depends on the motive. If you want to get your belly button pierced so when you are in a bathing suit and a guy walks by he thinks about your body, its not a good idea. However, having your ear pierced causes no one to lust and can still glorify God.

Also, about sex outside of marriage. That doesn't glorify God. He made sex to be within marriage so that it would have the safety of a a commitment and all the sexual disease that we have created would be nonexistent.

A church should be a safe haven for sinners as that is what it is comprised of. Church is meant to be a place to fellowship with others who believe in God. Churches are given the authority to confront believer about issues they believe God is calling them to approach. However, the bible gives the correct way to go about it. One from the church should address the person privately without bringing it up to anyone else. If that is not affective they are to take two more with them and talk to the person. Issues should be confronted with a genuine concern for the individual.

The church shouldnt be changing their mind on where they stand about sex outside of marriage. That is clearly shown and condemned in the Bible. If a church is saying it is okay in certain circumstances they need to evaluate their theology. If that offends some I am sorry.

I am sorry if that is how it came off but that is not what I was trying to get across. I was just trying to express how churches change with the time. As far as I know no church likes or encourages young people to have sex out of marriage. However, I believe that everyone realizes that it happens.

Married people get sexual diseases as well. Being married doesn't suddenly make a person immune to disease.

okay. yeah i agree with that. a church does need to accept reality and see what they can do to assist and change what is happening in our world.
