For my first blog I thought I would just share my observations and opinions of today's generation of kids. This is what I see in New York City.
You get on a train to get home after a long day of school or work. Some take a nap on the long ride home while others may just bop along to their ipod. Then the doors open, then the loud rowdy high school and junior high kids get on the train. They have become so much more obnoxious and completely inconsiderate of others. These kids go and yell to talk to another then sometimes go pushing another when the train is full.
When one dares to speak up about the ruckus, the kids just talk back as if they were right to annoy everybody on the train. There is no respect between them and the adults, especially the elderly where they will not even give up their seats for an old person with a cane. What happened to common decency? They just go around with the mentality to own the world, that they are in charge without knowing what is wrong or right.
It just gets me annoyed to have to be disturbed after a long day. Can't we just get on the train and be quiet instead of creating a scene?
Well I am a bit tired so I guess I'll end my first blog here. Perhaps I can rant about something else tomorrow. Please comment, would like to hear your opinions on today's kids and their disrespect for everyone else.

I do wonder quite often if I came across as a kid the way kids do today. I am not sure if kids are really becoming out of control or if that's just how we see it as we grow and mature. Personally, I think kids are getting out of hand, but my perceptions can be way off.....
No, this doesn't annoy me at all. It flat out pisses me off. I've always had the opinion that you should have the utmost respect for adults, especially parents and teachers because without them you'd be nowhere. I hate it when my peers mouth off or make some smart-ass comment about someone just minding their own business. I wish kids, and young adults, were more respectful. I mean, I don't expect Leave it to Beaver or anything, but come on let's get some manners...or even just some common sense!
I definitely agree that my peers are usually out of control and think its cool to mouth off after someone is irritated with them and speaks up. I, being an 18 year old, am annoyed with it too. But, adults of today need to realize something else, that if you constantly look down on kids (like this article and those replies) with annoyance and disdain, they aren't going to treat you with anything more than what you treated them. If you sigh at them or make remarks to your neighbors, which I do to, you can't expect them to change. You must yourself change and this is the first step.
Part of the reason kids probably get so obnoxious is because they are relieved to be out of school. They have been sitting still for six hours and now have a chance to chat with friends, just like we were. Not to say that this gives them the right to be rude, but you have to remember: kids don't act the same way at all times. The reason so many people fear for the future of our children is because they assume that all kids are this way all the time after witnessing only minutes of that kid's day.
