Stupidity Lives in My House With Me

For the most part, criminals don't want to be in jail. Getting caught is not the best part of crime. But most aren't afraid. Their insane logic doesn't allow room for fear.

That being said, this past summer, my brother's fiancee had a minor issue with the law. Her friends decided it'd be cool to rob some guy's house. Well, they got caught and she got in trouble for just sitting in the car. She didn't do anything but sit in the car, and got in trouble.

Well, one got 6 years or so in prison, another skipped town before his trial, and she's under 6 months of unmonitored house arrest. They call and check up on her. If she's not here, they find out, and she's in prison.

Well, since they've never called her yet, she's been doing what she wants. She goes out with some guy that isn't my brother.

Now I don't really like my brother very much, knowing he's not a good boyfriend to her, and not a very good person for that matter. But he doesn't deserve to be cheated on.

The guy she was with? Is creepy. He calls her and yells for no reason all the time. He's 30 years old and has a kid and girlfriend.

But she goes to lunch with him and such and he's from Harrisburg. Which is over an hour away.

Anyway, she's been out with him, risking prison time for herself.

So tonight her step-mom calls the house, and I didn't know it was her step-mom at first. She says "Hi, um, is ______ there?" (name left out for a bit of protection purpose)

I said "No she's not" before I could realize it could be the police. Not that I would have lied if it were, but atleast I could've been smoother about it.

"Well, where is she, do you know?"

"Um, no.... who's this?"

"_______."

"OH! I'm sorry! Hi! Umm, here, talk to Scott. He'd know where she is."

I was so relieved, but at the same time, pissed because that girl should not BE out at all. Especially not with that GUY!

Anyway, she comes home and says "Thanks. Now my dad's not going to pay that *insert name of fee* fee! Now I have to find a way to come up with $136 or else I go back to JAIL!" and they fight about it. Scott said "Yes... you do." and she got all huffy because he didn't offer to help her out.

It was her OWN STUPIDITY that got her in trouble! She shouldn't expect anybody to lie for her, and she's pretty damn ballsy to even ASK someone to lie for her. She's in no position to yell at Scott when all he did was explain to her step-mom what was going on.

If I were Scott I would have told that girl if she went to hang out with So-And-So, that she'd be out on her ass. I would never stand for such nonsense as that.

Why is my household full of such major stupidity?

My mother, for letting her stay here. My father, for not speaking up about it. My brother, for dealing with it all for 3 years (and for many other obvious reasons). ____________ for... umm just really all of the obvious reasons. And me... for staying here with all the crazies.

I will welcome college with open arms.

This was not only a rant, but a demonstration of the stupidity that really does exist out there.

We never learn anything if things are just handed to us. We need to learn to take responsibility for all of our actions.

I wholeheartedly second that statement.
