Does anyone truly think that they know which format will be the better in the long run? Should we believe that more memory equals better quality? Lastly should anyone in the great United States of America be pushed into buying one format over another?
First, how does about two or three years out on the market determine wheather or not a product is the better. At the beggining of this whole format war we all believed that the HD-DVD format would win the war because of the success of the Microsoft XBOX 360. After a year the product would lose much gust because of production companies going exclusive with BLU RAY.
Second, I will admit that for gaming BLU RAY is the better format because of the memoy capacity but this should not be the same for movies which do not take up as much space. The quality on both formats truly goes down to what player it is in not on the amount of memory it can hold.
Finally, should a huge multi-billion dollar company decide what I or anyone else watch on my television. I do not think so and if you want to go against me you can. I believe that we founded a country on what we want and I belive that we should choose whether or not I watch a peticular format.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR EARS AND EYES

What happened to VHS is what I want to know?
The way I see it, is as long as they keep producing new types and making other types extinct, the companies are going to have a certain amount of control over us. As the PS3 gains more and more fans, Blu Ray becomes more popular as well. We don't have much choice but to go along with what they keep putting out - if we want to watch new movies at home at least.
Faulting thinking -> Faulty Speaking
Better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
I saw a Blu-Ray movie at my brother's house and I must admit, the picture was clearer than real life. I was very impressed with the quality.
