Did He Really Just Say That? Wright...

Senator Barack Obama's pastor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright of Trinity United Church of Christ, has gotten much publicity for his comments of late.

Senator Obama has been hounded for his association with Rev. Wright, and my question is; is that fair?

In Barack Obama's speech on race, he expressed his support for his pastor, while attempting to condemn his comments. But, in my opinion, continuing support for, and attendance at a church where racial hatred is brewing and hate-speech is being taught from the pulpit, is sickening.

Rev. Wright has been caught saying things such as "U.S. of K.K.K.A.," "“The government lied about inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color," "For every one Condoskeeza Rice, you've got one million in prison," and more.

Anti-Israel literature is mailed from Trinity, Wright praches anti-semitism, says that Israel is a "racist country", has visited with Gadaffi, sells Nation of Islam sermons by Louis Farrakhan, and just last year, Trinity Church gave Farrakhan a "Wright Trumpeter Award," saying that Farrakhan "epitomized greatness."

Wright has said "Jesus was a poor black man," has repeatedly said "n*****," and all while supposedly teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.

He even claimed in his hate-filled speech against Hillary Clinton that Jesus taught him not to be "reduced to the level of hatred, bigotry, and small-mindedness..." But his blatant bigotry is exactly the opposite.

The way Wright politicizes faith, and actively campaigns for Barack Obama while disparaging Hillary Clinton from the pulpit is appalling.

Trinity's tax exempt status as a church should be taken back, and Revered Wright should apologize for his hate-filled rhetoric in public.

Barack Obama's association with such a person leads me to distrust Obama himself. How can Senator Obama raise his children in such an environment? With hate, rather than God's love, being taught for all to hear?

If this is what it takes to open the eyes of the public to Obama's religious backround, and associations with a lunatic (in my opinion), then so be it. I sincerely hope that Reverend Wright can get past this, and actually preach Jesus' message, not how Jesus is a "poor, black man."

In the classic style of contemporary black leaders, pastors, and keepers of the word, it is practiced to question the words of the national leadership. To delve deeper, It is practiced to make statements contradictary to those of the "establishment" in order to galvanize the spirits of the faithful. I promise before and after those contraversial remarks there were words of incouragement, and love.

It is taught in the "black church" that despite the most dispicalbe circumstances, we must stay faithful to our lord, and faithful to his word. Rev. Wrights statements were designed to be outrageous, in order to capture the attention of the church, because the only way a man is to see the present is to see the past. In the past, the very government who Jeremiah Wright preaches against wronged the new "African American" people very deeply. It is only natural to harbor sentiments.

Furthermore, Rev. Wright's sermon were no more anti-government than those of Martin Luther King. During the civil rights movement, Dr. King was jailed due to his anti-government actions. The beliefs and principles that won him a Nobel Peace Prize were initially not recipricated by the United States government. Moreover, his anti-government speech was no more inflaming than those of civil rights leader Malcolm X, who preached "hatred for the white devil". Why is it that America can revere a man for the resolve to say what could not be said in the past, but cannot hear a that same voice in 2008?

That should bve the question

If this is what is taught in black churches then it is no wonder that racism persists. I'm sure there were children in those pews and they undoubtedly lack the sophistication to sort our the nuances and the love and encouragement that surrounded this disgusting filth. If we teach our children to hate then they will grow up as haters.

It now starts to make sense to me why black on white rape is 100 times higher than white on black rape. Rape is essentially a crime motivated by hatred.

Accually the children are separated from the congregation........there is usually a more age appropriate service designed so children can undrestand the true christian principles of service and love

also.........if you want to discuss a pastor using the pulpit as a political pedistile......check out this link to Pastor James Manning....who is a friend of the Clintons.

So, what you are saying is that all of the members of the many catholic churches whose preachers have been proven to be pedophiles should be distrusted? I mean, how can they raise thier children in an environment that supports and covers up for child molesters? If your argument about Obama holds true, then so does this one.

"So, what you are saying is that all of the members of the many catholic churches whose preachers have been proven to be pedophiles should be distrusted?"

Yes, that was exactly my point. I'm glad someone finally found my anti-catholic and anti-pedophilia writings between the lines. (sarcasm)

Lol but really, that's not really what I'm saying. Catholic priests, as horrible as some of their actions are, are not preaching the molestation of children. They are not openly saying, "molest boys!" So no, they're not the same argument.

Barack Obama attempts to cover up for a pastor who preaches hatred for other races. He raises his young, impressionable children in an environment where a church figure is spitting out the N-word, and politicizing faith. The two arguments are very different.

Unlike Obama, most Catholics were unaware of the pedeophile problems in their churches.

As these scandals came to light, unlike Obama, they walked away from their churches in droves.

Catholics are dependent on illegal aliens to fill the empty pews.

"Why is it that America can revere a man for the resolve to say what could not be said in the past, but cannot hear a that same voice in 2008?"

Many don't revere Malcomb X at all. He was a racist himself, and advocated violence. He inspired the Black Panther Party, a militant black power group that killed white people, and threatened many more.

My mother lived in the Virgin Islands when she was 6-11 with my grandparents, who were professors there. Her family left the USVI because they had friends who had recently been killed by Black Panthers, and he had received death threats from them.

It is this kind of hostility that is put forth by people such as X, and today in figures such as Jeremiah Wright.

Also, this isn't typical of all so-called "black churches." I attended an inner-city "Black" church for 3 years, there were very few white people.

"Furthermore, Rev. Wright's sermon were no more anti-government than those of Martin Luther King."

Warbanks -- this isn't about being "anti-government," this is about being blatantly racist. If you read any of the quotes I have in my blog, you'll see it's not just "anti-government," it's anti-semitic, anti-white, etc...

give me a direct quote where Wright says anything anti-white, or anti-semitic.

"my first name must be, "He aint sh@t", cause everytime I come through, yall be like "He aint sh@t"!....I'll be dat" --Redman

Sorry, I can't give a direct quote from Rev. Wright that says "I Hate Whites!" or "I Hate Jews!"

But it's the implications of his quotes and actions that prove his racism. The man loves Louis Farrakhan. He's called Farrakhan "Helpful and Honest," and has given the man an achievement award!

Farrakhan has said "White people are potential humans - they haven’t evolved yet.” as quoted in the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Wright has called Italians "Garlic-noses," says Israel is a "dirty word, "and spits out racial rhetoric in church. Trinity even posted anti-Israel articles from the leader of Hamas, a terrorist organization!

What more do you want? His racism and divisiveness is unrefutable.

I am posting a new blog with a question most notably for you Mose, but I hope that all who read will just give an answer of "yes" or "no"

"my first name must be, "He aint sh@t", cause everytime I come through, yall be like "He aint sh@t"!....I'll be dat" --Redman

Haha thank you.

Hamas is a social organization that builds schools for poor children and provides humantiarian aid to the needy all over the Middle East, as well as a political revolutionary organization (as were the Irgun and the Stern Gang, the terrorist groups most directly responsible for the ouster of the British from the Palestinian protectorate and the establishment of the Israeli state--or, for that matter, Patrick Henry and the revolutionaries who founded America)
Be careful about buying the establishment's line on terrorist organizations--Or anything else, for that matter. Things are not always what they appear to be.

If Martin luther King were around now, people would be treating him the same way they treat Wright, Farrakhan, etc. I've listened to Louis Farrahkan, and he indeed IS great! And dissing Israel isn't antisemitism, MANY Jews are opposed to Israel.

Is he not allowed to say "nigger"? I think saying Jesus was a poor nigger is pretty fitting. I doubt he actually meant to insult Jesus. it sounds more like he's talking about the way Jesus was treated by the powers that were.

The problem is, you, and everyone else who hates Wright, OBVIOUSLY don't know what Black churches are like and how to interpret what the pastor says. We are allowed to be critical of governments and society at large. Someone doesn't have to apologize just because your feelings are hurt.

It's not hate, it's anger. I hope he never apologizes.

Barak O'bama must have led a life almost beyond reproach if second and third hand associations are the worst that can be found about him. He went to a church where the pastor said things that could be interpreted as intollerent? We sure can't have a president that knows anyone that isn't politically correct can we?

The stretch to label Rev. Wright as racist and intollerent is just that...A STRETCH. He did not say anything that was actually racist, and as far as intollerent doesn't what he says being the truth give him that right in AMERICA?

Here are the quotes you base this on:

"“The government lied about inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color,"
O.K. he's a paranoid conspiracy buff. I don't know the context or timing of this coment on a rumor that the KGB admits to having spread, but I think it is goofy to say something like this with no evidence.

"For every one Condoskeeza Rice, you've got one million in prison,"
Literally true, but only in the narrowest sense. We do have the highest incarceration rate in the world and the majority are Black men, even though blacks are a minority.

says that Israel is a "racist country",
You have to be very ignorant to think it is not.

Even their apologists think they are racist, justifiably so, but still racist.

"U.S. of K.K.K.A.,"
Is criticism allowed in the US?

"Jesus was a poor black man,"
In the US if you have one black grandparent you are still considered black. Based on that standard Jesus probably was Black. Would you say that a person that renounced wealth and posessions was poor? So TRUE again, but hardly intollerent, unless you hate people for being black or poor.

Next you pretend Obama is guilty third hand for the political incorrectness of people Wright praises. Third hand guilt? Is that ALL you have? Are you responsible for everyone your freinds like?

If this 'controversy' looks like some sort of 'smoking gun' to you it may be that you are just not ready for a non-white president.
