Thanks for the comments! I do intend to keep blogging, though I was gone last week and will be again this week (interviews and such). I hope today’s journalism students do get up and start to retake industries like CNN and MSNBC that are nothing but opinion and partisanship.
One thing the media has picked up on recently, or at least a few anchors, is the friends of Barack Obama. The main man he is connected to is Antoin “Tony” Rezko. Rezko is a Syrian-born U.S. citizen who went on trial this week for purloining up to $6 million from Illinois residents. Obama was contacted by Rezko while he was attending Harvard. Rezko offered him a job at the law firm of him and his partner Allison S. Davis. Through the law firm, Obama was a paid director of the progressive Woods Fund of Chicago, a philanthropy that later gave $1 million to a project created by Davis and Rezko. At the same time, Rezko advised and raised funds for Obama’s state senate election, which he only won because of a scandal of his opponent having an affair. Obama and his wife bought a piece of land and a home from Rezko while he was known to be investigated. When Rezko was arrested this January, it was because he was a flight risk to the Middle East where the nations do not have an extradition treaty with the U.S. The first of four men associated with Obama, perhaps a man perceived to be so brilliant as he should examine his friends closer.
