Energy Crisis Solved Already

Over the years many people have stated various solutions to using less energy to do what we already do. Recently, I watched a single program which showed a 170 mph pure electric car and a guy that collects fast food fryer grease to make deisel fuel. I saw an ad for a device that will create 80 gallons of biodiesel fuel per day at your house for $0.73 per gallon in a magazine. I read a blog about a guy asking "Why isn't there a small solar panel on every building?" These are just 4 ideas I caught skimming through the thousands of ideas that have come up in the past 60 years. Just these few ideas alone would eliminate all need for coal plants, nuclear plants, polluting city vehicles, and solve the 18 wheelers need for cheap fuel. Yet none of these ideas are being implemented.

The guy that made the 170 mph electric car said that the technology wouldn't be available to the public for 20 years. Why do we have ot wait twenty years for what he has already made today? Given the demand, I'm sure he can find companies to manufacture the parts cheaper and sell this car for under $50,000. That would get this sports car in competition with the gas burners of today and create a market. If solar panels were deemed necessary on every building solar panel companies could afford to create more panels cheaper making it financially feasable. If a company can create a home kit to make biodiesel fuel, why don't the companies that collect the grease from restaurants just drop off the grease at a central plant for processing and use the diesel fuel for truckers. All of these ideas are money makers. All of these ideas already exist, yet i have to spend 10% of my income on gas that financing countries that hate us and destroys the environment.

I see your point but, you can not honestly expect it to just come out like that. They have to test all these different ideas to make sure they are safe and are actually going to help like they say they are. If we just jumped into something with out be completely positive about the consequences because if something goes wrong, who is going to get the blame?

I know exactly what you mean! Some of these greener technologies have been around for AGES, and yet no one is making a move to implement them or make them widely available to the public!

And that's comin' at ya' from yer local redneck hippie.
