Keep on chugging lil Engine

(Did you get my allusion in the tittle?)

I admit, what originally caught my eye was the $1,000 scholarship. That is why I checked this place out. It is not the only reason I signed up though. I signed up cause I like the idea, and I like what is going on here. This stimulation of meaningful conversation is a wonderful thing.

Now, I am pretty sure I will not be winning the scholarship. Compared to other people, I do not post many blogs. Compared to other people, I am not as knowledgeable on the progressive topics. Consequently, I get few reads, and less comments. It crossed my mind to quit. Why bother? I'm not going to win. No need to make a conscious effort. But just because I am not going to win $1000 does not mean that I should quit.

There is a good thing going on here. I am learning a lot, and am contributing to others' knowledge and understanding. I enjoy being a part of this wonderful group. Everyone is apart of MySpace and now facebook, but it takes a higher caliber person to be here.

My friends, my fellow progressive bloggers, be proud that you are here. Be proud to be doing part of something more important than most of the activities of our lives. Even if you aren't going to win the money. and my friends, even if you won't win the money, continue to participate. You're thoughts count. That is what this site is all about. As for the bonus points, go ahead and participate even if it won't make a difference towards the scholarship. The bonuses are usually good things to participate in anyways. As for telling people about this, well that is important even without the incentive of points and money. It is important that people know about this (even if it does add more competition for the scholarship.) Only through knowledge and understanding can we change the world, and ProgressiveU is one place we can all gain and share knowledge and understanding.
