School Bullying

In school ,especially high school, there is always someone who bullies others. People think that bullies are so confident about themselves and that's why the bother other people but that doesn't seem to be so true. Many bullies bother or talk about their peers because they aren't happy with themselves and they bully others to take the attention off them. Many teens can't handle bullies and they are sometimes scared to go to school to face that person. They don't know how to ignore it and this is making their life difficult. No matter how much a person bullies others, bullying is still wrong. You shouldn't feel uncomfortable attendin school and you should talk to someone about the bully like a teacher or school counselor. In my opinion, this is truly an important subject because many teens committ suicide because of bullying. They can only take so much of it and they usually never talk to anyone about it because they are scared. Bullying is wrong and it leads to so many awful things. If you know someone who is being bullied or if you are being bullied, you need to talk to someone like a friend or an adult that can help you. This is an important issue and by reaching out for help, you could save someone's life.

Just two days ago I dealt with a 15 year old kid that was brought to my ER after trying to jump off of a bridge. I asked him why he tried to kill himself and his response was that he was tired of being bullied in school. I asked him if he asked for help from his parents or with school and he had no answer. I asked him if he thought jumping over the bridge was truly the answer and if he really thought that would solve the problem. He stated that it would solve his problem, not everyone else's. I asked if he wonders what the bully would say when he found out that he jumped over the bridge and killed himself. The kid said that the bully would probably laugh. I find this to be disturbing. Bullying is real, and anyone who doesn't think so should do some more studying. Some states have created laws to prevent it.
