Soldiers
I always wonder why some people protest or hate the soldiers who are fighting overseas right now. They cannot help it if they have to be in a war. I am a proud supporter of the soldiers, but I am not a supporter of the war. I don't like the idea of killing innocent people. When I go to the store, I see a soldier. I just walk right up to them and shake their hand. I thank them for their service. That is what a soldier wants....to feel like someone cares about him or her.
Soldiers are like celebrities to me. If I met a celebrity, I am not going to make a big deal about that. If I meet a soldier, I am meeting an important person. My good friend just left for Iraq a few days ago. I am really upset. I support the soldiers because it is my passion in life. When a soldier gets a letter, it is like water to them. They are thirsty for letters. I know my letters brightened the soldiers' days because I told them about my week. I included my embarrassing moments, too!
Readers, life is hard for the soldiers. Sure, they want to serve their country, but their life is messed up when they come home. It is hard for them to adjust to life. And, a simple thank you can make their day. I am not trying to tell you how to live your life, but here is some words of advice....thank a soldier...those simple words mean alot. Also, if you are a person who hates fighting, don't take it out on the soldier. It is not their fault. Remember, soldiers of the past wars fought for your freedom to protest and much more.
With the war, hopefully, coming to an end, thank a soldier. For, they are the true celebrities.
The REAL celebrities....in uniform

Men and women...Most of my friends rock it for our country...If anyone can speak against the troops...they shouldn't enjoy the freedoms or safeties that the military preserves for them...Thanks Troops!
I agree with you. My cousin lost his arm from a roadside bomb, and I take patriotism very seriously. My real close friend might have to go overseas if the war breaks out. I just suppor the soldiers in any way. I am happy to see there are people who love our soldiers!
God bless,

I think there are more people in support of our soldiers than we realize; maybe they just aren't vocal enough?
I mean, we hear all the time from the people who protest the war or hate the soldiers, and rarely hear something like this where someone loves our soldiers. But every once in a while we get a blog posted that attracts a lot of attention for the soldiers and garners a lot of support for the soldiers:

That was nice to read. I certainly support our soliders, but I have never known what to say to them. I always imagine they have seen so much they just want to forget about the war. But you made is seem so easy. Just say thank you. I am going to remember this the next time I meet a soldier instead of being to afraid to speak to them.
I have participated in many writing campaigns with soldiers. It's hard for me because I enjoy getting replies back and many times they cannot reply.
Aside from that, I try to go up to soldiers and thank them whenever I see them.

You know, I've always wonder what it would be like to become a soldier. I really wanted to at one point when someone was recruiting me. But my parents wouldn't let me go because I am a girl and an International student. They told me I cannot possibly get in. In Thailand, they only recruit guys...so yeah. I haven't seen any soldier walking around in my neighborhood yet. If they ever come by, I'll definitely give them my thanks.
