Voting Day!

Well the issue of the day...believe me there are a ton of them racing through my head. But here is one that sticks out. Today is voting day. Hopefully all of you voted and had your voice heard. I actually came across a ton of people today who said they didn't vote because they didn't see the point, and their vote didn't count anyways. I wonder why this idea has become so apparent in our society (with young adults that is) Is it because of the Bush election in 2000 where some people feel like it was a stolen race? I'm very curious, I personally feel like that is one main reason. To be honest voting is one right that we as Americans still have left and to be fighting in a war where we want democracy to be present in the middle east, and yet we don't even support it in our own country, seems like there are alot of people out there who are hypocrites. I am just stating this fact from my own personal experiences. Alot of people support the war and want to help Iraq get on its feet and hold their own democracy, yet they didn't go out in vote today. It is very surprising that some young adults didn't even know their was an election going on today....ah this scares me alot! We are the future and we need to be educated on the world around us, and the thought that more people voted in american idol then the last presidential election is disgusting. (Another reason I feel like TV has a hold on our youth and needs to be ended) I feel like that is another topic for another day...tv and the reason why it is the downfall of America. I will leave this blog with a question, why is it that young adults don't vote? I have my own opinion, but what is yours?
