How do you percieve torture?
Is it gut renching pain being inflicted upon another?
Is it a horrible name you were called when you were younger?
Can it be stress?
Is it a figure of speech such as: "Ah, this is torture," ?
When I used to think of torture I thought of Genocide or the Holocaust. Gas chambers and pits of death.
Lately I have associated torture with the mistreatment of prisoners in Iraq and the journalist getting his head sliced of with a dull blad. These things are torture at its worste.
What do you think of?
Also, have you ever inflicted torture?
Remember, it doesn't have to be physical.

I could go into detail...but I doubt you'd want me to. Anything I can't wilingly watch is what I consider torture. If I can watch it, the person being tortured can deal with it.
There is a house in New Orleans they call the Rising Sun.
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy and God I know I'm one. ~The Animals
I am reminded of Saw 3
that was torture....
I could not watch more than a minute of that at a time.
Ah, but was the scene itself or the act of watching it torture?

It could be both.
Visual and physical torture.
I think the question should be...
does the person preforming the torture think that its torture?
Or does he think its just a good time?
I think that each individual person has their own thing that would be considered torurous. Just think of nails on a chalkboard, some can hack it and others can't. It would be almost impossible to define, since every person is unique. Even as far as pain goes - not everyone can tolerate as much or as little pain as someone else. To me, watching anyone else be tortured is complete torture!
