Juicy Campus

Hey everyone,

Recently, one of my suitemates introduced me to this website that she frequents to get a few priceless laughs and endless entertainment. It is called Juicy Campus. For those of you who have not seen or heard of the website, it is a blogging website for college students in attendance at American colleges and universities to anonymously voice their opinions about anything. The operative word here is "anonymously".

This is the troubling part. I have no problem with students voicing their opinions and rationally discussing or even arguing about political, cultural, and social issues, but this website has gone too far. It is absolutely disgusting to view posts that serve as ads for free sexual favors and demands. It is absolutely disgusting to find students, at my own university, located in the center of the melting pot of the world, New York City, spreading horrific rumors about young men and women with whom they have been sexually active. Even if these messages are based in truth, there is no acceptable and justifiable reason why people should have the need and desire to do such things.

The website is als flooded with racist remarks made mostly about Black, Asian, Gay, and Jewish people. The posts are unbelievable. I can and will do a follow-up with quotes directly from the site, or you can just check it out yourselves and tell me what you think. I really hope that I am not alone.

Please do not think of me as naive; I am well-aware of America's deep-rooted history in racism, but in this day and age, I know enough to say that no American is in any position to further the cause. This website is encouraging students to publicly voice racist, sexist, chauvinistic opinions that they just simply wouldn't voice otherwise if the website were not anonymous. If we want to change things in our world, an effective discussion of social and cultural analysis will have to be an honest and civil one, where people are proud of their opinions and upfront about who they are and what they stand for.

If anything, it sounds like this site was started to be a good thing, but the negative comments and disrespectful people who've gathered there have dragged it down the tube. Hopefully that site has moderators that can delete such hateful posts.

I heard of that site before. It makes me sick to hear all about he rasium happeing on this site. I will say thnak you for voicing your opinion.

Honestly, I am going to look into the site and see who has started and what I and anyone else can do to combat the negative things be written about individuals and groups of people. I don't know exactly how it started, but I feel like getting down to the bottom of it, because people don't deserve it.

When the word "anonymous" is attached to a project llike this, people are automatically willing to say things that would otherwise be completely unacceptable. In short, they are cowards. Let's all be brave and engage in a civil and respectful discussion of these social and cultural issues that plague our country today.

Oh well you should check out thedirty.com and diegogone.com those are much worse. Those are all about pictures. I don't care though, I find it amusing when my crazy roommate ends up on it. The little green monster in me smiles... I shouldn't but I can't help it, she is INSANE.

Après la pluie le beau temps.

Check out my latest blog! :]

Thanks for telling me about it.

My roommate thinks most of it is funny too and that it isn't such a big dea, but it seems to me that we dismiss certain things or undermine their importance or seriousness because we've seen it before or because it's "not as bad" as that other website. None of it is acceptable-- period.

So, sure, I'll go check it out and see how bad it is, but none of these websites are excusable. I am actually going to copy and paste a current post and some replies. Sure, post your opinions... where we can actually see them. Be brave. Be honest.

The following is text from Juicycampus.com, THIS IS NOT ME:

Am I the only one who realizes that black people are simply several steps behind white people in the evolutionary process? I mean, seriously, shouldn't this be obvious? Everyone knows that humans evolved from apes, and black people are closer to apes than white people are in terms of skin color, hair type, build, and intelligence. I'm not advocating that we should enslave/kill black people (I'm not Hitler), but why don't we just pass some laws that prohibit them from reproducing? That way, they would all just die off and we wouldn't be bogged down by all of their problems anymore (drugs, violence, shitty music, etc.).

Response
meh, you're not entirely right. I would say blacks look more like gorillas and whites look more like chimpanzees. However, according to the evolutionary process humans are closer to chimps than humans so we should look at the simlarities between blacks, whites, and chimps--using you're criteria for humanity.

skin color--under chimp fur is actually white skin. however, there are chimps with dark pigmentation also

hair type--your evaluation is grossly incorrect. Negroid hair and chimp hair are nothing alike. Chimp hair is straight, like the hair of the non-black races. Also, blacks generally are not hairy/furry (Africa is too hot) people...unlike many whites.

build--Have you ever watched the olympics or seen World's Strongest Man? Apes in general are not very good with their legs (haven't evolved) but have tremendous upper body strength. Blacks are pretty much the best at anything dealing with leg power, but how many blacks have you seen win World's Strongest Man? None, because you need an strong upper-bodied European. I'd say whites have a closer build to apes.
Intelligence--most blacks I've come into contact with are DUMB. however, i recognize there may be cultural reasons for this and i've met some really bright blacks (although rare). it's necessary to understand there are blacks at all levels of intelligence...even if there are more at the lower levels than others.
drugs, violence--all cultural vices that could possibly change. WWII anyone
shitty music--rap is basically the only thing musically blacks have failed at...and that's a mere opinion.
Thomas Huxley warned about comparing blacks to apes because phenotypically many chimp characteristics are more similar to 'whites' I don't like black people's noses though

YOUR THEORYWOULD BE WRONG, BODY TYPES ARE BASE ON GENITICS. ALL HUMANS ARE DIRCET DESENDENTS OF CHIMPS, HOWEVER, CIVILIZATION BEGAN IN AFRICA WHICH MEANS AT ONE POINT IN HISTORY. EVERYBODY WAS BLACK. AS PEOPLE MIGRATED OUT OF AFRICA, THEIR APPERENCE CHANGED PHYISCALLY AND GENITICALLY, WHITES ABDAPTED TO LESS SUNLIGHT WHICH IN TURNED THEIR SKIN WHITE . BLACK PEOPLE KEPT THEIR PIGMENTATION, BECAUSE THEY WERE EXPOSED TO MORE SUNLIGHT, THIS OBSERVIATION IS TRUE FOR ALL RACES OF PEOPLE. THE COMMON VARIBLE IN ALL CASES, IS ENVIRONMENT THE OTHER VARIBLE IS GENITICS. AS FOR BLACK PEOPLE BEING ANY LESS INTELLIGENT, IS VERY SHALLOW ASSUMPTION. A PERSON INTELLIGENCE IS BASE ON THEIR ECONOMIC STATUS, MINORITES IN PARTICULAR TEND TO PREFORM BELOW AVERAGE, WHEN IT COMES TO ACADEMICS. THIS IS A DIRECT CAUSE OF POOR SCHOOL SYSTEMS AND THE LACK OF ECONOMICS RESOURCES WITHIN THEIR COMMUNITY. WHICH HAS A DIRCET CORRALACTION WITH CRIME, WHITES,OUT PERFORM BLACK BECAUSE MOST WHITES ATTENDED BETTER PERFORMING SCHOOLS AND TEND TO HAVE AN HIGHER ECONONMIC STATUS, THEN MINORITES. ALL HUMANS HAVE ABOUT THE SAME INTELLECUAL ABILITES.PEOPLE WHO ARE SMART ARE SMART FOR A REASON, THAT REASON BEING THEY APPLY THEIRSELVES RATHER THEN MAKING EXCUSES.

I AM BETTING YOU'RE INTIMADATED BY THE PERSENCE OF BLACKS. KEEP UP THE HATING AND WATCH BLACKS MOVE UP IN SOCIETY OF PROVE PEOPLE LIKE YOU WRONG. IF DON'T BELIEVE ME, LOOK THROUHG HISTORY. THE FUTURE OF THIS COUNTRY LOOKS COLORFUL
