Situation: I and my pregnant girl friend were in the school cafeteria eating lunch when the public phone rang. It rang and rang probably 12 or 13 times it was so annoying so I made a comment to her that she should answer it "Por Que", She said dude there are 3 mexicans behind you staring at you. I said So what>?
I grew up in Buckeye Arizona my Biological mother is Indian and my adopted mother is full Hispanic, so I know all about how the mexican community picks on little white girls like me who love to say the wong thing at the wrong time. There was one incident I was put into a coma by 3 of them. Now I am a grown woman and being that i have the colorful background that I do, I can say whatever the hell I wnat to. I did not make a racial slur or a comment that could offend anyone. I hear the mexicans at my school talk shit about me in spanish litterally as im walking by. I dont care Im not going to fight them because they arent saying anything against my character. Oooh Im a stupid white girl. Big woop. Get a life. So I just want to know who has been through a similar experience where the other side is so offended when you make a comment but when they do it to us Its Racist! I think thats Crap. People are people. Thats the bottom line.
And honestly it would have been histerical if she had done that.

It happens but this whole racism and bigotry is like a pendulum. It started up on one side now it has swung to the other. Soon it will wind down to a stand still and all will be well.(to put it lightly)
I'm convinced that as long as there are different races, there will be racism. Sad, yes, but it's the way it is. Respect for all people simply isn't valued enough.
I think that the old hates are slowly dying off, at least in America. I dont know about other countries but I think we will breed out most races here, Right? I can't remember when, but I believe we are all supposed to inner mix into some sort of coffee colored race(at least that's how southpark put it). I just don't see racism being a big deal in even just a hundred years.
I believe it will continue to get better as time goes on. However, I don't think it will ever completely go away.
Please keep the comments coming Your opinion Matters and it matters to me!

I hate racism in the fact that when I mention it, it makes me feel like I'm trying to be careful about what I say. Please - what's the difference between white people and black people?? Hardly anything! Some people get riled up about how people talk to Barack Obama - get over it! If he's gonna be the commander-in-chief, then he should be treated the same way as a white person - see what I mean? Doesn't that sound ridiculous?! It sounds like people should be treated differently depending on the color of skin, which in itself is discrimination.
There seems to be two camps of thought. One side has people who think that they should be able to say anything they want; because they believe it is this “politically correct” culture that is causing racial disharmony. To counter this culture, they start this anti-PC rebellion of sorts and consciously say and do things they know that other cultures do not like. After they deliberately do this, they feign innocence and say that it is the fault of this culture that people get mad.
The other side, and the one I ascribe to, is to treat people with respect. If other cultures don’t want me saying certain words they consider it demeaning or improper, I won’t. If they don’t want me acting a certain way that they believe disrespects their culture, I don’t. It’s the same way with everything.
Let’s take a different example. Let’s say a child has lost his mother and is attending a funeral. If you think his mother to be evil, do you hold any conversation that might demean his mother within hearing distance? Most people with a conscience wouldn’t simply because it would cause the child harm. But if most people wouldn’t, I just don’t understand why they think that words and actions should not matter in other social contexts.
Anti-PC folks seem determined to hurt, demean, and provoke other cultures simply because they believe it is their right to do so. Why not just treat people with respect? It doesn’t matter if they won’t treat you with respect. Their moral values should have absolutely no impact on your moral values.
This anti-PC, anti-affirmative action movement also wants to, disingenuously, promote a color-blind society, saying that people are just people. What’s the big deal? The big deal is that people of different cultures really aren’t the same. I’ve had Christians come up to me and tell me that my anti-God talk offends them sometimes. Now, I am aware and keep my God-talk among friends. There are cultural, religious, racial contexts you need to be aware of. Deliberately doing things that are anti-PC doesn’t help achieve racial harmony. It only helps break the races apart.
I don't really have anything to add. Anti-PC people love to blame the victim.
