Plastic in the Oceans

The link above brings you to a CNN World Report about plastic getting caught in a vortex in the ocean. Not just from the Atlantic or Pacific Ocean... but from all of the oceans combined.

Many marine animals are eating, getting caught in, and being transplanted on this plastic debris from ships and land alike. The death and being caught in pose a serious and obvious problem. But the problem that isn't as clear as the others as the wildlife being transplanted by catching rides.

The moving ecosystems of barnacles and other sea life living on the plastic can ruin another ecosystem that it moves into in a matter of months.

The plastic that has piled up can be clearly seen at about 50 feet over the top of the water.

I guess this rant has just one point -- please recycle your plastic and help the environment.

Please, read this article, and let me know what you think.

Thank you!!

i always cut the sixpack soda holders at my house and at my work, and i tie bags off when i'm done using them for the upteenth time. i don't understand people who don't recycle - how can you pollute your home so mucH? thanks for posting this; hopefully others will see how a little action like throwing away a huge plastic bag can affect a whole ecosystem.
