Politics...What more?

So we're at the point in our upcoming elections for governor and congress that it's getting kind of ugly. right now i'm tired of flipping on the tv and seeing a new commercial bashing the opposing candidate. they really need to grow up. in government class my teacher showed us an advertisement that he got in the mail. it was a pamphlet that said "Snoop Dog needs to be put on a leash" on the front...and on the inside it was talking about how Attorney General Phill Kline is trying to get medical records in Kansas made public, aka 'snooping' in other people's business. now, i don't like kline, but this ad was a ridiculous attempt to get the younger voters on tim morrison's (his opponent) side. honestly. it made me laugh, though. so the suspicious part about the ad is that the supposed "third party" that paid for the pamphlet...doesn't exist. so it's an illegal ad. good times...good times.

and i was driving down one of our major intersections, and i looked to my right to see about 5 different candidates fighting over the side of the road with about 10 signs each. i am not even joking. i'm completely serious. as soon as the owner's yard ends...BAM. there's a sign. it's great, really. i enjoy looking at plastic signs clustered around each other, all about the same person. and then 2 feet away...BAM. more signs for their opposing candidate. when you think about it, it's so brilliant...yet so ridicuous. it makes people look at the signs, which is what they want...but then people think of how wasteful and stupid that is. in hopes that the elections would decided to move a week or so up to rescue me from signs taking over kansas...i leave you.
