Sorry we forgot you can't graduate

There is in the works currently a test that is going to be required for graduation. In Pennsylvania I believe the test would useless as in other states that have standardized testing before graduation. See in Pennsylvania for those of you that do not know we have a test in 11th grade called the PSSA or the Pennsylvania System of School Assessments which you will not graduate unless you pass on these tests because they assess what you have learned since the last time you were tested in 8th grade they test you also to measure your knowledge before going on to high school. Now I do not understand why they are trying to make more laws because one test should tell you exactly what the next one will either you pass the PSSA and you know what you need to know to graduate or you don’t there is no other reason to take another test in twelfth grade that decides yet again that yes or no this student is smart or not and can pass the 12th grade and just graduate already. What is the need for another test that will more than likely tell you the same thing that the 11th grade test told you because see you do not really vary in your scores it would seem because you either stay on the same track you were and earn your grades or something happens to where you earn worse grades it doesn’t tend to happen that a student will change suddenly and go from below average to an average student or above average student they just are what they are. Or so it would seem yes I know there are people that really start to try to get the better scores but these test tend to look at your thinking patterns and not how well you can memorize what the teacher tells you and you don’t tend to suddenly think like a genius if before that you were a student that needed more help with their work than others.

My thoughts just abolish the test before it comes into real life although it does not really affect me because I’ll graduate before it comes into effect. However, it is just tedious taking more time out of the learning system when that day or week or however long it will take to complete the test takes out that much time that a student might have learned a new form of writing or a hear a lesson that will help them greatly in their learning experience because chances are if the student is smart enough to graduate this test is not going to suddenly say differently. You either just know it or you don’t it’s just that simple so more testing is just a waste of time in my mind. What do you think? It has not even come to pass yet but what are your thoughts on having yet another test from the government before you graduate determining if you are smart enough to graduate or not?

In Texas, a similar system in place. Students who are in the third grade begin taking these tests, known as the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills. In order to graduate from high school, high school juniors are required to pass these examinations as well. These exams cover social studies, science, mathematics, and english. However, teachers spend more time trying to make students pass these exams, rather than teaching students actual skills or lessons.
