I would like to say hello to everyone on ProgressiveU. I have never blogged before. But there was a motivation behind beginning this blog. I am home for the summer. I go to the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, but am now in Spring Hill, Florida. I have lived here since I was about 4, and I really have never been thrilled about living here. There is very little to do in this little town. Moving to Jacksonville has been great for me. I've met amazing people in my dorm. I live 10 minutes from the beach. There is just so much more to do there. There actually is a downtown. Since I've been home I've been talking to a friend that I go to school with. He lives about two hours away, but he actually seems thrilled to be home. And it movtivated me to think about where I want to move on to. I want to move on to somewhere I'm happy about. My goal for after UNF is NYU. I adore New York, but it is an expensive city. And NYU is an expensive school. So as I look on fastweb for scholarships I come across a scholarship about blogging. So here I am.
I have never blogged before. I've been keeping journals since I was in the 8th grade. So let's see how this goes. This is definitely the internet age. This is the age of blogging. About time I get with the program. So I welcome myself to ProgressiveU and I hope everyone keeps up with my blog.

Welcome to ProgressiveU Gaby! I'm sure you will love it around here. We're all loud and opinionated but most of us don't bite :) If you need any help finding your way around, feel free to check out the FAQs or post questions to the forums. Moderators are always happy to help out when asked!

Welcome. A couple things, before we begin. First off, you aren't eligible for the scholarship during this contest (the cutoff date for registration was April 15th.
Secondly, while you may feel the urge to just use this blog for journaling, ProU is so much more than that. This is a site to talk about issues, whether they be political, economical, social, global, whatever. You won't be too well received if you just write about how your day was. Read some blogs that have high marks to see what people are looking for, and feel free to post any questions you have in the forum (there's a link to them at the top of the page).
