"You have an unpopular President going onto prime time television, interrupting Americans' TV
programs, to remind them of why they don't like him." ~ G.O.P Official on the President latest speech about the w
Time Magazine article here
Best quote of the day, this was basically about the President most recent speech and by default since he was on almost every major channel you couldn't really avoid it, so at least heard about it or read it somewhere.
But you guessed it, it was about the war in Iraq and his announcement to bring a few thousands troops
home by Christmas. Yay, good news! So what's the problem you say.? Well if I state this correctly, the surge was only meant for a short time frame so, things so they were meant to come home anyway, but it still leaves over 100,000 there in Iraq and Bush is praising this a victory, well maybe because for once things might be going as planned...I suppose that's one thing to be relived about for him.
But no matter how much I'd like to believe him, I smell bullshit, its like the kind the floats through the air, not very heavy but you still know its there (didn't you like that vivid description?), or maybe I just got tired of him altogether
and I doubt if the greater public knew about the surge and what it entailed (at least what they (the government) enclosed to the public) since many cant even locate Iraq on a map :(
I hate to be a Debbie downer, but either two things could happen, things could improve, or we just fucked up, and not just a regular fuck up, but one of those fuck ups where you fuck up so bad and just when you can't possibly make it any worse...you manage to find a way to actually make it worse.
Call me a skeptic, okay I am a skeptic but you know we cant make a bigger of a mess we already did, we're
damned if we do and damned if we don't. We are stuck between a rock and a hard place right now.
So what do you think about his latest speech? Bullshit? Publicity stunt? Proof that the surge is working? That the president did good by letting the American people whats going on? Or something else? Or do you just not trust the government
altogether? I'd be more of the latter, it's just something that just doesn't sit well with me about it.

Yeah, I don't trust the government at all. They never tell us what's going on. And I agree with the millions of people who hate Bush and think he's a horrible president.
