The Writer's Strike

I was so inspired and proud that the writer's went on strike. I believe it had more to do with just wages as well. So many times the actors take all the fame and glory and leave little money and fame for the writers who put the lines in their mouths. It has a lot to do with our culture, we are a visual culture that puts a lot of importance on appearence. Well the writer holds a lot of importance as we've seen the past couple of months. They are the ones who should be assigned the credit. The writer's strike really gave me faith and hope in this country. Where the ones who deserve more can put their best foot forward and demand it from those who owe it to them. As Harrison Ford put it yesterday at the Oscars, before a scene is even shot, someone sits down in a room and creates the scene from their imagination. The writer's strike, while a downer for many American Viewers, was a real wake up call I think. It helped them understand that sitcoms and shows don't happen without them and they are a very important part of the business. Writer's haven't been given the credit that they deserve and now it is their time.
Everyday people are protesting for their rights, writer's are no different and they did their job. Kudos to them.

Huzzah!
and, uh, slightly shorter paragraphs are easier on the eyes.

Yeah, go writers!

I'm glad they got what they wanted from the producers, but I'm also glad they got the attention they deserved.

As much as I supported the writers and I think they should have gotten their goals much sooner, I was quite annoyed by the length of time the stike took. It left America televisionless, and I was most annoyed because it may have entirely ruined the last season of Scrubs!

Scrubs is a great show I agree. But you got to admit that it was worth it for the writers atleast in my mind. Why couldn't have America read a book?
