I have a previous post about bullying that deals with gossip if you care to read it however this post I would like to talk about another kind of bullying that I think is equally as bad. The physical kind I don’t mean like physically harassing someone. However, I mean like throwing someone’s shoes over telephone wires or hanging someone’s underwear from the flag pole. I am not trying to give anyone ideas here either. However, the school can and should take action against this kind of bullying because it is the most preventable. This type of bullying will quickly lead to a fight as will most kinds but it does effect the student in many psychological ways besides the obvious embarrassment or the student having to possibly walk home barefoot. Also here is another thought I didn’t put in my last post what about the parents rule in all of this. Should they be the type of parent that says oh just ignore them it will stop because I know from personally experience it rarely if ever does. Or should they be the type of parent that calls the school screams at the principle and enrolls the student in boxing or something of the sort.
I think it is obvious in this one that all schools should enforces rules if they don’t currently have them that state don’t touch, take, steal, borrow anyone’s stuff or any person without their consent. Or at least something along those lines and have a greater punishment if the student breaks the rule because so many students get bullied in schools today there is always that one or two students that are left out of the group the loser. And at some point in everyone’s life they experience getting bullied or picked on so what can be done about it. Should there be more kind of lecture or classes like they have for the D.A.R.E. program that explain about bullying I actually think that the D.A.R.E. program does a short lesson about bullying along with their resisting peer pressure exercises. But what can actually be done. Should anything be done? I think so because I don’t think any student should have to suffer through the humiliation or the stress of bullying it causes things like the columbine, suicide, and the most recent Virginia tech incident it is time that we step up to the challenge and find a way to stop all of this bullying nonsense no one should tease somebody in anyone because they are different, insecure, or believe they are superior to them.
