Insecurity

Far, far away

Off in the distance

There on the horizon

Is light

And it shines so brightly

So bright that I can’t see

And my vision is gone

And I crave it so badly

My hand can only just feel its warmth

But it’s just out of reach

All I want ta do

is stand in that light

Bask in its security

But no matter how far I walk

I can’t reach it

And like the cold grasping claws of some malevolent creature

The shadows pull me back

Forever longing for the light
